Description
In this sequel to Deviations: Submission, Dom Tobias and Sub Noah are back, learning more about each other and their relationship, and testing the boundaries of what they can and can't handle, both together and apart. Tobias works at becoming more comfortable and finding his balance as a full-time Master again. His work brings out the true submissive in Noah, who faces some of his greatest fears, and his greatest secrets, finally confessing to Tobias about a terrible time in his past. But show more Noah is not the only one who has a rough time. Tobias breaks down and shows Noah he's not all Dominance, too, which sends shockwaves through their romance, leaving them to wonder if they can hold onto their balance together. Dominations is a deep exploration of the BDSM scene, with secondary characters who enhance the story and a central romance that has the reader rooting for Tobias and Noah to work through their obstacles and come out stronger. show lessTags

The book nor the series, nor the subject is for everybody. I absolutely love these 2 main characters, Tobias, a veterinarian and Noah, a police officer. Where the first book of the series was not focused so much on submission but more on two people meeting, getting to know each other and getting accustomed to one another's needs and expectations, This, the second book, dwells deeper on the nature of their relationship. Dominants are not always strictly dominant and submissives are not always only submissive. I was pleasantly surprised at how "ordinarily and delightfully human" these two guys were portrayed to be. The authors depicted feelings and reactions which are very believable in a situation which most readers have never show more experienced, or wish to experience, yet are still curious. If an author can cause a reader to believe in the characters and their reactions in a situation which is unfamiliar then the author has done a really good job. This is the kind of book which makes most of those unexpected situations believable and realistic. Tobias and Noah are fast becoming one of my favorite romantic couples. Their love for each other is yet on the side of new but seems to be boundless. This will certainly be on the re-read list. show less
Let me just tip my hat to Noah's inner slut.
Except from a scene from book three where I almost dropped my tablet, this book might be the hottest one of the 5. If Submission opens the path to the world of BDSM and to Tobias and Noah's relationship, Domination soars like a proud galleon on a stormy sea, raising the stakes.
Man, the Domino scene was just out of this world.
I liked the new characters being introduced like Luca and his boy, even if we got a taste of them only briefly.
Oh, and Bradford rules!
Whenever I finished one of the Deviations books I just had to take a 24 hr break from reading to recover :) I thought I was kinky but these series are in such a far away league that I don't even see the league.
Favorite BDSM series. Period.

I have to say, since the last book, I missed them. I actually craved to read this second book of the Deviations series because I HAD to know what happens with them. It didn’t disappoint. There was a lot of hot action, a lot of hot scenes, and a lot of romance. This book was definitely more romantic than the first, and emotional in a different way. In this second book, Tobias and Noah have to find balance between having a regular romantic relationship and having a relationship based on the exchange of power. In this one, Tobias examines his weaknesses as Noah comes to terms with his. Their dynamic and struggles show that not even the best Dom in the world is infallible; no matter how strong we are, we break down, we screw up. We’re show more not perfect. I can’t wait to read number 3. show less
I honestly don't have the words to tell you how much I loved this book. This series is truly just getting better and better. Again it is firmly on my favourites shelf!
Again we get to spend time with Tobias and Noah. Their relationship is growing constantly, but not without some bumps along the way. Again Chris and Jodi make us a part of this relationship. We learn some of the motivations behind Tobias' actions and watch Noah grow in his role as well. We're also a part of their love story as it grows stronger daily.
The BDSM scenes are extremely hot, as is the sex! At times I felt I really needed a cold shower...

A great sequel to an equally great first novel. This book brought a layer of emotion that the other one was too early for. As the relationship of the two main characters, Tobias and Noah grows, so does the loving nature outside of BDSM. Their exploration of balance and consolidation was a new element and an honest concern when taking part in a serious relationship. Even a Dom can be tender, even a Dom has weaknesses. Sometimes, power exchange isn't what either party in the relationship needs. This book brought that to forefront. In the book, we saw that Tobias, the Grand Dom, is not always perfect and stitched together. And we saw that Noah, submissive though he is, can handle any situation that comes to him. Domination also featured show more from stellar scenes with secondary characters like Phantom's struggle with his past. show less
As many told me, the second books in the Deviations series tends to be a little more “public” than the previous one, but that is not necessarily a bad point. True, I don’t like very much public sex scene, but the ones in Deviations: Domination are tempered by the fact that they are, in a way, a commitment: allowing Tobias to stake his claims on Noah in front of their friend is a way for Tobias to fully commit to Noah and for Noah to fully acknowledge his relationship with Tobias. If I remember well, Noah was “scarred” by a bad experience with his previous Dominant, bad not since he didn’t love the man (that is still his friend) but since he couldn’t completely trust him with his safety. So allowing to Tobias to be so show more clearly in power is at the same time admitting that he trusts Tobias; trusting to Noah doesn’t come easily, not only for his past experiences, but also since, as a cop, he has to be really careful.
For Tobias, committing so fully to Noah, is also a way of healing from his past; again the previous partner, Phan, is part of the story, and his relationship with Tobias is still on, only moved to a friendship stage. Tobias doesn’t hate Phan, on the contrary, I have the feeling that he is still in love with him, but now, in book 2, Tobias realizes his future is with Noah. Taking their relationship in front of people is like taking vows, a some sort of marriage, a proof that Tobias is over Phan and ready to fully love Noah; and so of course, worthy of the trust Noah wants to give him.
I’m true, as always, BDSM is not my cup of tea, and more it’s intense, more I’m not so comfortable. But as I told to a friend, about the previous book, I can understand the concept behind, and I fully understand that, to some point of view, BDSM is really romantic: it’s giving yourself completely to someone else, trusting that he will want only the better for you, that his love is so strong that your own good is the most important thing… if that is not unconditional love, I don’t know what else could be.

This is the sequel to Deviations: Submission. "Submission" left the reader as the two characters, Tobias and Noah, began to move beyond simple dominant and submissive--falling in love. That book explored the BDSM world with Noah, the submissive, as the focus. "Domination" switches the focus to Tobias. These two are developing a relationship, and they have issues to overcome just as any other couple does.
This series is excellent; well-written, fast paced, with fully realized characters (both supporting and main). Another book featuring some of the supporting cast as main characters would be more than welcome. I understand the third book in the series will be coming out April 07 and the fourth in Fall 07. Yeah!
I never expected a show more BDSM-themed book to have such a powerful love story, but there it is. Read these two books--now. show less
