This is one of the best settings hands down fan favorite and cult classic: here adventuring is much more than montey haul hack and slash because all around you on every plane there are things that could destroy you with but a whim. Here motives, beliefs, goals and desires, philosophies and genuine roleplaying should take the forefront of a planar campaign. For those not familiar with dungeons & dragons cosmology there are inner and outer planes -- the inner planes provide the material structure to the world and the outer planes provide the philosophic and ethical structure each having some affiliation to law and chaos, or good and evil along a continuity.

The artwork here is superb as is the writing.

Makes for great bedtime reading.
