Trying to couple the hard science fiction BattleTech universe with a at best silly idea of dimensional travel was a haphazard try at creating an innovative story which failed miserably. Half a star for trying, but writing books isn't the Olympics.
For the record, this book is an absolute "don't mention it" with BattleTechers, and considered absolutely uncanon by even the most tolerant fellows.
