The author set out to write a play every day for a year, and the result is this book. The plays are very short, and some of them are really not plays so much as skits. The unique style of the author shines through every work, with her unusual grammatical stylings making it difficult to read at times. Much of the material contained within this work would be difficult to perform on stage; her stage directions are delicious, but how a director would ever get some of that across is beyond my imagination. These plays have been performed in a series of performances around the country by theatre groups that did parts of the script in one place or time while others did other parts in other places and times. Challenging and compelling, it is show more necessary to accept this work on its own terms and not attempt to force it into more standard ideas of theatre. show less
