Ziemlich gut. Da es ein Hörspiel ist und kein im Wortlaut vorgelesenes Hörbuch, gibt es naturgemäß Abweichungen vom Originaltext. Die Länge entspricht ungefähr der Länge von Peter Jacksons Filmtrilogie in der Extended Edition. Manchmal hatte ich das Gefühl, dass die deutsche Synchronisierung der Filme sich etwas von diesem Hörspiel abgeschaut hat. Wo man vielleicht von der Bildgewalt der Filme etwas überwältigt war und das eine oder andere Detail verpasst hat, kann diese Akustikversion eine ideale Ergänzung sein. Der Ton ist nicht immer perfekt, anfangs gibt es ein paar kleine Probleme mit Lautstärkeschwankungen. Die Erstausstrahlung war 1992. Was mich etwas wundert ist, dass die Laufzeit in der Ardapedia mit 756 Minuten show more angegeben wird, während die Version, die vom WDR am Heiligabend 2022 kostenlos zum Herunterladen zur Verfügung gestellt wurde, nur 697,8 Minuten läuft. Auch die CD von 2003 läuft laut Beschriftung nur ca. 700 Minuten. Entweder ist das ein Fehler in der Ardapedia oder da wurde eine knappe Stunde von der Ursprungsversion weggekürzt. show less

A writer of fantasies, Tolkien, a professor of language and literature at Oxford University, was always intrigued by early English and the imaginative use of language. In his greatest story, the trilogy The Lord of the Rings (1954--56), Tolkien invented a language with vocabulary, grammar, syntax, even poetry of its own. Tolkien was also a formidable medieval scholar, as evidenced by his work, Beowulf: The Monster and the Critics (1936) and his edition of Anciene Wisse: English Text of the Anciene Riwle. Among his works published posthumously, are The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún and The Fall of Arthur, which was edited by his son, Christopher.
