Three themed long essays on Mesmer, Eddy and Freud. Each interesting in its own right, and the Freud especially helps to see some of the influence of Zweig's fiction writing. Though 80 years since its original publication, this is a good introduction to the subjects, albeit a very personal and opinionated one (Mesmer: misundestood. Eddy: moneygrabbing and manipulative. Freud: tireless hero). ( )
