The two giraffes from Como se dice? are back, and they welcome a new friend - an ostrich. Text is in both English and Spanish as the giraffes inquire how the ostrich is feeling (eres tímida? tienes miedo?). Finally, the ostrich reveals that it is feeling excited - "because I have new amigos!" The giraffes are felices, and all three new friends have a fiesta.

This story could have been called, "John hanging out with his friends" because most of my friends speak Spanish and we often have conversations that go back and forth between English and Spanish. While I was reading this that was all that I could picture, I felt very much like that Ostrich. The message of this story is very pleasant and positive.
This children's book is on a preschool level and includes both English and Spanish phrases that are commonly used in conversation. Although it is a preschool leveled book, this book could easily be used with an ELL student learning English because the book moves from the English phrase commonly used to the translated Spanish phrase on the same page.
This is a introduction book to conversations in bilingual form. A great starter book for English or Spanish learners wanting to learn a few terms at a time. Important ones too like "Are you hungry?"
