I was vastly disappointed with this book and with Laws, especially after reading his wonderful The Wyrm. When I heard that this novel would revolve around the Big Cat phenomenon that Great Britain has suffered through for years, I was ecstatic, due to my love for all things cryptozoology, but it never lived up to what I was hoping would happen.

Several years after her husband's death, a writer and her daughter move to a rural development in order to restart their lives. In their stay they become involved with the local Big Cat hunter, as well as a group of people who are running around wildly during one of the worst storms of all time.

I hardly if ever felt any concern for any of the protagonists, or for the Big Cats when the POV was show more brought to them. The storyline seemed erratic, random, and just plain boring. Definitely nowhere near the best book that I've ever read. A miss for Stephen Laws. show less
