Its Berserk and its volume 10. This series is incredible and if you're reading a review for volume 10, I have a feeling you know that few words are needed for this manga. It completely speaks for its own. ( )

While Casca and Guts finally declare their feelings to each other events take a serious turn when they embark on a mission to save the Griffith from the dungeon he is kept and torturted in for a last year.

To say this volume is difficult on so many levels would be an understatement. The very depiction of Griffits tortures, rage brought up by it in Guts and his rampage through the Midland soldiers, assassins chasing our rescue party and finally king of Midland unleashing the Black Dogs, criminals in military service to hunt down and kill our protagonists. This volume is so packed it is incredible.

And to top it off strange and horrendous creatures start to pop up in Midland, in forests and remote areas devouring all the life. Stage gets set for a horrendous things coming (those who watched anime version know what to expect). I was especially taken by a rather innocent (and cute looking) elf-like creature that acts as a lure for those monsters feed off. It is very disturbing when something so beautiful is in essence a a horrid creature.

Art as always is just gorgeous. The way Guts' berserk rage is presented is breathtaking.

Recommended to fans of gritty and bloody fantasy stories. ( )

This is the tenth book in the Berserk series by Miura. A ton happens in this book. Guts and a small group of the Band of the Hawk go to save Griffith from Midland’s dungeons. Meanwhile things are getting dangerously crazy outside Midland; Ricket and the rest of the Bank of Hawk are beset upon by evil and vicious demons.

This is the book where things really start to turn away from politics and war and back towards the demonic horror we saw in the first couple books. Things are going south quickly for everyone in this book and disaster is just on the horizon.

I continue to be very impressed with how much story is in each volume of this series. The illustration continues to be amazing. I am always completely sucked into these books. As with previous books this is a manga for mature audiences only.

Overall another amazing installment in the Berserk series. I would recommend to mature fantasy horror fans who love their manga action-packed. I can’t wait to see what the next volume holds! ( )
