One of my favorites. I love older woman/younger man stories since I'm living that myself. I really love Perry the hero. He is such a gentleman. He knows that he loves the heroine, Grace, and just digs in and sticks with her. I do get tired of the whole I'm scared I'll go back to my old love because I'm so weak thing that the Grace does. She's a wimp. I guess I don't understand how anyone could be that unsure of themselves. But Perry's character makes the whole book shine.
This historical romance was just so-so. The story was mostly characters thoughts about their insecurities and the heroine feeling unworthy. I skimmed a lot but I did finish. After Grace's brother dies, Perry a good friend of her brother asks her to marry him.
Have always liked Balogh's books. Kept this one for a long time and really liked it but I have run out of space.
