I really enjoyed this romance. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 5* rating. This author gets a lot of feels into her stories as well as a lot of twists and turns. This grabbed my heart a few times. It's on to the next.
I read this as part of a 2-in-1 Debbie Macomber volume (An Engagement in Seattle), including this and another of her older works that she apparently updated a bit. I guess it worked as to terminology and gadgets like cell phones, as I didn't come across anything jarringly out-of-date, but the stories are older-style romances. Groom Wanted was the better of the 2 - a Green Card driven marriage, with a bit of suspense thrown in.
Older Debbie romance. Julia marries Alek, her lead scientist in her company, so he doesn't get deported, causing her company to fail. The ex who broke her heart is back in the picture. Alek wants a real marriage, but Julia is too scared to try at first. But of course, everything works out in the end.
FROM AMAZON: Julia Conrad needs Russian biochemist Aleksandr Berinski to stay with her. Her Seattle company depends on his research, but his visa to the United States is about to expire. So Julia suggests he get married—to her. For business reasons only. Except Alek will only say “I do” if the marriage is real, and Julia wants to keep her heart safe. Can she trust Alek when love didn’t come first?
