I must admit that I was a little hesitate to start this book. Not all good things have come from fan fiction and online stories. Also the publishers have labelled the front of the book with 'If you liked Fifty Shades of Grey you'll love this'. While I read Fifty shades, I did not love it. So if this is anything like that, I was not really going to like it very much.
However I was proved wrong, which was such a good thing; as one should never judge a book by it's cover. I do love the cover by the way.
Ian and Francesca are right at each other from the start and their show more attraction never waivers. I fell in love with Ian, a true alpha male and a man who truly knows himself. He is every bit the secret billionaire and Francesca just seems to love the mystery that surrounds him. She is drawn to him and everything about him. An erotic, kinky romance that hits all the right spots. If you wanted to like Fifty Shades but hated their poor relationship skills then this the book for you! We have a virginal college student, a billionaire business man with control issues, kinky sex, and two people that communicate their wants and needs to each other! With just enough of a dark history that the hero wants to remain hidden to keep things interesting.

I really like Beth Kery's voice and was looking forward to the completed version of Because You Are Mine because I am not a real fan of serials. While I did enjoy the book, I did think this was actually suited better in serial format, because the pacing didn't flow as well as a full book although this is a minor niggle. I also found Ian's character too cool for me to relate to - although I did like how Francesca broke through his walls he set up around him. But if you like the premise of the Bizillionaire and the virgin heroine trope, this was a good take on the premise especially with Kery's gift with love scenes. The BDSM element was well explored and very hot!
