Description

II never believed in fairy-tales. Never held out for Prince Charming. Growing up poor in small-town California as the oldest of six siblings, I knew I would never ride off into the sunset with anyone. That was even more apparent when a senseless tragedy took the lives of my parents, forcing me to become the sole guardian of our dysfunctional household at the mere age of twenty-three. Then a fateful encounter literally brought Prince Charming to my doorstep. At first I thought Viktor was just show more your average businessman passing through, albeit obscenely handsome, six-foot-five, blue-eyed, and mysteriously rich. But soon I discovered the truth behind Viktor's façade. Beneath his quiet, enigmatic gaze and cocky charm, is a man who is running away from who he really is. A role he'd rather not fulfill. He is Viktor of House Nordin, His Royal Highness, The Crown Prince of Sweden. Yet uncovering Viktor's secret was only the first step. I didn't expect to fall in love with him. I didn't expect to have my whole life turned upside down. When you're from two different worlds, can your hearts meet somewhere in the middle? Or do happily-ever-afters only exist in fairy-tales? The Swedish Prince gives the royal romance fantasy all the sparkle you want, but what really sold me was the emotional grounding underneath it. Maggie is not just swept into some glamorous fairy tale. She is carrying real responsibility, real grief, and a whole life that makes every choice feel complicated. That gives the romance more weight than a simple prince meets girl setup.
Viktor has the charm, the mystery, and the royal drama, but he also feels like someone caught between duty and desire, which made the connection work for me. I also liked that the story leans into the two worlds problem instead of pretending love magically fixes everything. It keeps the book sweet and swoony, but with enough heart to make it stick. A very show more readable, escapist romance with substance 👑 show less
I loved every freaking second of this book! So good. I love the story line, I love the characters, and the secondary characters as well. Well written, well researched, and you could tell the author loved what she wrote, it bleeds though the words on the page. I love that this wasn't cut and dried, and love that these characters had to work for the love life that they wanted.
This was a great story, and I could picture everything so clearly in my head. What hooked me was the cover, the look on his face is priceless. a great HEA, and all around story, you won't be sorry you picked this one up. Told in dual pov.
I love this series - I read The Nordic King first (I'm always jumping in the middle of places by accident it seems lol). I like how the author wanted to make a Roman Holiday romance with a proper HEA. These books tackle some heavy subjects so take care when reading!

CW-death of family members (happens off page), death of pet (happens off page), family member death by suicide (happens in past, off page), economic anxiety, PTSD
4.4 stars

This was a very cute story. I liked that it loosely resembled Roman Holiday. The author did a good job in characteristics and allowing the reader the chance to connect with all the characters. The H and h were perfect for each other.

Holy hotness. Loved this book. I loved the story line and the characters!!! Plus the steaminess is off the charts. Definitely, do not pass up! Great read.
