Description

National bestselling author Vickie Taylor presents the third novel in her startlingly different series featuring the shape-shifting Gargoyles: protectors and forbidden lovers of the mortal women they desire...   As a child, Levi Tremaine discovered he possessed abilities he could neither understand nor control. As a man, he isolated himself from "normal" society, preferring instead to exist in a shadowy world of deception and violence, among people as dangerous as he.   Now Levi is being show more hunted by the forces of both good and evil for the very abilities that drove him into hiding. Can he distinguish friend from foe in time to save his everlasting soul--and the woman he loves? show less

Seems like maybe an end or near end book of a series. Levi Tremaine is human, but also can change into a sea going creature (think loch ness) and works as a ship hand with his captain and lover, Tasha. When a freak storm tosses them onto a luxury yacht owned by a man named Romulus, Levi learns that he is not alone in the world and that there are an entire race like him, the Les Gargouillen, or gargoyles. Soon he and Tasha are drawn into a world of violence and power like they never would have dreamed of.

A decent enough story. The gargoyles here are certainly not your traditional turn to stone in the light of day brand. In fact, I'm not really sure why they are called gargoyles, but that's okay. The main characters were easy to like, the show more bad guy easy to hate (rather one dimensional) and the story moved along well. Overall a good, but not great, story. show less
