Setting out to explore his beliefs in the environment of a simpler time, Richard Bach shares the adventure of one magical summer he spent as an old-fashioned barnstormer flying an antique biplane when he emulated the gypsy pilots of the 1920s. In the summer of 1969, ex-jet-fighter pilot Richard Bach sold his modern light airplane, bought a 1930s Travelair biplane, and went barnstorming across the Midwest. This book is his account of what it was like, and it's also (for my money) not only his finest book but one of the great aviation memoirs of all time. ( )
