This is a great book to share with young children and early readers. It would be fun to share with students and have them share their favorite nursery rhyme. Students could read their favorite rhymes with a partner and draw pictures representing their favorite rhymes. Students could make and illustrate their own little book with favorite nursery rhymes to be reread over and over at school and at home.

This book is a collection of traditional rhymes is a visual treat for children. The book contains a humorous style enlivens 200 rhymes that star both the familiar Mother Goose cast of characters and those not as well known. Some pages are devoted to one rhyme -including all the verses while other pages feature a variety of shorter rhymes or thematic groupings such as verses about weather. Some of the classical rhymes are "Yankee Doodle" and "Hush Little Baby," along with traditional poems such as "Three Little Kittens." This collection is a delightful introduction to poetry as well as an entertaining, comprehensive Mother Goose book.

Readers will be drawn in immediately to this collection of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. The illustrations are friendly, expressive, and engaging to children who are attracted to the colors and may be able to contrive the context of the poems or short stories from the artwork prior to reading the text. The lyrical rhythm of the nursery tales is sure to be popular with readers and through repetition even young children may memorize some of these beloved standards. This would be an excellent addition to any classroom study of poetry.
