Tracy Goodwin melts the ice with ICE HOT, the first book in the New York Nighthawks series. NHL star, Christian Chase, is focused on leading his new team and does not plan on being distracted. However, after literally bumping into, Serena Ellis, he is intrigued and interested in pursuing her. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

I liked Christian’s character. He is the captain of the new expansion team, the New York Nighthawks. He has a lot of dimensions. He’s a dog lover, so that’s a plus. I appreciated Christian’s friendship with Nick. He came from nothing and wants to prove himself. Serena is an admirable heroine. She comes from a wealthy family. I like that she is a clothing designer for real show more women. She feels that her, and her brother are a disappointment to her parents. She never felt like she fit in her social circle. I love the relationship she has with her brother and grandmother.

Christian and Serena have great chemistry. I like how Christian and Serena met. Their banter was entertaining. I appreciate that they like each other for they actually are and not their net worth or celebrity status. They come from different backgrounds, but they fit together. They both have scars that the other helps heal. They trust and respect each other.

I enjoyed the plot. The characters faced many interesting confrontations and grew both individually and as a couple. I like the expansion team aspect of the story; the added obstacle of bringing together a new team presented engaging challenges.

This is the first book that I have read by Tracy Goodwin. I enjoyed her writing style and plan to continue following the books in this series. I recommend ICE HOT for lovers of sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Ice Hot is the first book in the New York Nighthawks by Tracy Goodwin. The first player to find love is Christian and he is the newest player on the team. Serena is a desinger and is on the plus size side. I am mentioning her size because it plays an important role in the second half of the book and it has shaped Serena's personality. All her life she was bullied for it and she still shamed for it by some mean people. Under other circumstances, I might have found some of her reactions a little over the top, but they were justified to an extent. The way she treated Christian early in the book was horrible and I understand why some people didn't bother to read beyond that. She came off as very immature and indecisive. She is more mature show more later in the book though and that was a win in my book. Christian is one of the good guys and I liked him a lot even when he tried to fix things in the wrong way. We learn from our mistakes, right?

The book was easy to read and on the light side. There is drama, but nothing over the top. I was rooting for Christian when it came to the team drama (yes we got a couple of kinds of drama) and I was glad that plotline was resolved in this book. The author did a good job at introducing us to the next guys who are going to get a book and I am looking forward to reading the next book.

He has the moves and the ego to back them up. Whether you love him or not, Christian knows how to be the star of the show, but what happen when the playboy's heart takes center stage? Ice Hot proves itself a game changer when it comes to matters of the heart. Goodwin steams up the pages with her sassy, heartwarming sports romance.
This was okay. The writing flowed well for the most part, but I was turned off from the story by Serena. Her fixation on something that happened when she was 16 was a little much for me. As a grown woman, the fact that you let a jerk from high school determine how you live your life is a too much. Also the continuing references to her being fat, or not having a normal body, got old. Even though this wasn't a book for me, I would be willing to read this author again.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) This book was a little painful for me, it dragged and I kept reading it because I kept saying that it will be better than the cheesiness that I kept reading, and because it had a lot of stars, I personally did not agree with them. The book wasn't horrible, but I like more entertainment. We have two people Serena and Chris who are attracted to each other but are both broken in their own way. Chris is a hockey god and known around the social media's sights as a player but he never really had a relationship, and is still supposed to be vulnerable because his father never wanted him or really took care of him so he is afraid to put himself out there thinking he will be rejected (sorry a little show more far fetched to me) Then we have Serena whose family is super rich, due to an incident when she was 16, up 16 she is afraid to open herself up to other men, she has been bullied and body shamed by her own parents. So there was a lot of back in forth in their minds do I want, no I dont, yes I do..Eventually as they start a relationship outside forces meddle and Chris dumps her then regrets it then apologizes and she immediately forgives. show less
I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Tracy Goodwin does it again! Serena and Christian chemistry is off the charts! It was fun and smexy filled ride. Definitely a must read for all sports romance fans!
