Poor Pippin the pig is a loveable and sympathetic character who can help teach children what it really means to share "gifts" on Christmas. The characters are especially well-developed through the illustrations, which provide playful facial features for all of the animals in the barn. Pippin's face in the final panel is enough to make anyone, child or adult, smile. ( ) Poor Pippin feels decidedly left out as the farm animals recount the Christmas story and the part played by their distant relatives. ‘What did the pigs do?’ she wonders. Dejected, she leaves the barn and flees into a nasty snowstorm. Through blowing snow, she sees a very cold and tired woman, carrying a baby girl. They desperately need a place to rest. Pippin leads the woman and her child to the warmth and safety of the barn. In doing so, Pippin shows the true Christmas spirit. no reviews | add a review
