Description
Mob princess Lucie Rizzo can't catch a break. Or take one. Building a business empire is hard work, even without her family's notoriety. Staying out of trouble isn't exactly her forte. Still, Lucie could use a vacation from Chicago winters and the town where everybody knows her father's name. So when a certain Irish cop promises warmer days--and hotter nights--Lucie sees an offer she can't refuse. Detective O'Hottie sweeps her away to the land of sun, sand, and...retirees? Before the real show more romantic getaway begins, Tim wants to visit his Uncle Henry. Or, to be exact, Tim's mom wants the goods on Henry's new girlfriend. Ha! Family drama without a Rizzo involved. What could a sweet, 50-something woman be hiding? Not a lot, judging by the amount of cleavage on display. Holy cannoli, Henry's Mattie could give Lucie's bombshell BFF a run for her money. It's more than just the skintight leopard print making Tim do a double take. The details don't add up. Mattie's not being completely honest--and Lucie smells a rat. Uncle Henry's gal pal isn't who she claims to be. But is Mattie playing a long con, or is she the victim? Either way, Lucie is getting caught in a dangerous game. Incognito by Adrienne Giordano
7th book in the Lucie Rizzo cozy mystery series.
Lucie and Tim go on vacation to sunny warmth. Mob Family, BFF, and a mystery quickly follow.
To help solve the mystery, Lucie actually uses her prior business experience in contracts to do some sleuthing. She and Tim work diligently together to find clues. And as usual, dog-walking plays a huge role in the set up.
Entertaining and humorous, especially because of Lucie’s BFF and the souped up golf carts, it was a fun read.
It can stand alone as a cozy mystery but it’s really better to have read at least a few of the first books. In particular because of the ending. No spoilers, but I’m betting on the confident man.

A Lucy Rizzo Mystery
Lucy has built her business up rapidly and finds leaving it to go on vacation with her boyfriend a bit difficult but off they go to sunny Florida leaving wintry Chicago behind. Ten days of blissful sunshine, quiet and time alone with Tim will be sublime...right? Maybe… First a stop to check on Tim’s uncle to find out just what the new girlfriend is really like then off to alone time in the Florida Keys. But, as is often true for Lucy, nothing seems to go as planned. That said, maybe this time it will be Tim’s family instead of Lucy’s mob family that will be causing trouble.
This is a fun book with short appearances by Lucy’s parents, brother and her best friend. There is a dog show more to be walked. There are bad guys to thwart BUT there are no dead bodies so the mystery is not to find a murderer but to uncover what the new girlfriend of the uncle might be hiding. Fun and funny and well worth reading this book left me wondering what will happen next as it seems Lucy’s first love is moving back to Chicago after six months in New York and Tim believes Frankie most is returning because he wants Lucy back. AND Tim plans to keep Lucy for himself.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
