Description

My name is Coby Cabello, and I'm pretty sure I work for the mob. I'm also pretty sure I don't care. What else am I supposed to think when I'm a regular human man working at a bar owned by a family of seriously enormous, incredibly powerful, insanely rich, and really protective guys, including Solomon, the hot-as-all-heck bouncer who glares at me across the room like he can't decide whether to kiss me or kill me? Want to know what I did not think? I did not think hellhounds. And that was my show more bad. Because when a magical attack causes havoc for Solomon's pack, I quickly learn that everything I thought I knew about the world was wrong. Magic is real. Hellhounds exist. Solomon's feelings for me are way more kiss than kill. And the family I've come to think of as my own is involved in a much more dangerous life than I could ever have imagined. But I was wrong about me being a regular human, too, because it turns out I have a destiny. A destiny that includes joining forces with Solomon to stop a terrifying creature bent on raining destruction down on all of us. And if the two of us can't figure out how to step up, claim our destinies, and work together... there's gonna be hell to pay. show less

Oh, Macy Blake and her Chosen One universe. There's just something the world and the characters that she's created that just make you want more and more and more of them. Really, I can't get enough of them, and I've had to reread them more than once, just because they are so good.

Solomon is the second in command in the hellhound pack. When Meshaq is gone, he takes over. Cody is a human bartender who works at Meshaq's bar, and Solomon has always been intrigued by him and vice versa.

The chemistry between these two is fantastic. I love Cody, I really do. He's got a very good heart, I think, and is a lot stronger than people might think he is, but there really is a spine of steel and a strong sense of responsibility and duty there. show more

Solomon is a very honorable and good man. He's also occasionally oblivious, but still, good and honorable. He's also fierce and protective. I don't think there is anyone better for either of them than them, if that makes sense.

Not as great as the first book. This starts out with the MCs (Cody & Sol) exchanging texts anonymously (dirty texts ;) but it takes them ages to actually reveal themselves to each other and get on with their relationship. Sol has been placed as alpha of Shaq's pack whilst Shaq & Drew are away on Goddess business; this pairing needs to steps up and protect both their pack and other creatures who turn to them for protection :)

Narrated by Michael Dean - excellent.
