I refuse to rate this book. Here's the thing, the author has made me too angry with all the drama to bother. Because all the drama makes me want to rate one. But the rating system isn't about likes or dislikes or anger towards the author, it's about the damn book and if it's good and worth reading. And it shits me to say it is.

Alexei was a horrible abberation with a lacklustre plot, editing and romance but Kostya, having been, I assume written before Alexei (and I do think that is the case for whatever reason not releasing it was) was a much better written coherent story, the likes of which Roxie Rivera has been known for. Of course, it's been way too long since I actually cared about this series so I had only vague memories of what show more the hell was going on with the gang war and it didn't make sense because I forgot that Alexei was originally set after. But I liked finally knowing Kostya and Holly's story.

So yeah.

This is a good story.
I would recommend reading the previous books in series as there may be spoilers for plots in those as Kostya is a 'cleaner' so his job means he is a background character in many other storylines.
Plus the start of the book runs in the same timeline as 'In Finn's Heart (Fighting Connollys, #3)' so possible spoilers for that plot.
There were lots of references to characters from previous books by the author.
There were so many characters I struggled with who was who at times.
There are lots of new characters for future books in series or spin off series.
Kostya's job makes some scenes quite complex and a bit gruesome though there is little detail of the deed but more the clean-up.
Kostya and Holly are all about each show more other.
There is a brief mention of previous relationships for both of them.
For Kostya, it is mentioned he sometimes had encounters with women as a job bit no details.
For Holly, it is mentioned that as Kostya lives next door he on occasions saw he have dates with other men.
They have known each other for some time but Kostya held back as he was reluctant to involve Holly in the mafia lifestyle.
There are no intimate details of anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No cheating, flirting or other woman or man drama.
Very brief pushing away from the Hero, more a reluctance to start anything at first.
It seemed quite a long book with a complex network of characters and history.
I hope this author will be ble to continue writing so we can see how other stories will go.
Heading the form of HFN but doubtless if there are future books the reader will see their HEA through the eyes of future couples.
