The first book in this series was fun, twisting, and complicated in a good way. This sequel, however, was too complicated for me to follow all of the twists. My favorite thing about this book is that it starts off in the present, where the main characters have somehow found themselves in a really perilous situation, and then jumps back in time to show how it all wound up in this dangerous situation. The snippets we see from the present day are artfully vague and build upon each other. I don't think i'll read this book again, but i still love the style and the surprises.

“Think of the White Gloves like the Junior League - by way of Skull and Bones.”
Deadly Little Scandals returns us to the world of Southern High Society as Sawyer and her family navigate the Summer Lake Season with new secrets, revelations, and as always - scandals.

Things I Liked
This series has so much campy dramatic goodness. It’s addicting to read about this over-the-top world and the rigid social rules that they’re determined to break.

There is such a strong focus on family that I always love. We see the deep complexities that occur when you keep secrets and that ultimately, you’re family is who you choose to love and stand beside.

Mysteries galore! This story is compiled of so many layered and interwoven mysteries, show more secrets, and lies that I couldn’t put it down. Everything is so connected and well-built.

Things I Didn’t Like
While I really loved the flashbacks used in the story, it was a little hard to get everyone straight and remember their present day counter parts.

The pacing near the end of the story was a little jumpy and hectic. I think it worked with the tone of the story at that time, but it could be distracting at times.

Overall, Deadly Little Scandals was an incredibly enjoyable followup to Little White Lies. And while I think book 1 is a more solid story overall, the rich drama and wonderful characters makes this a book you won’t want to miss.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review/

Sequel to Little White Lies. Sawyer Taft is back in this book that commences straight after she discovers the identity of her father at the end of the previous book. She is still in high society but is troubled over the revelations and is not her usual outgoing self. How can she tell those around her the terrible secret she has discovered....or HAS she? While holding on to this huge secret, she travels with her cousin Lily to their summer lake house and discovers that she is a candidate for selection is an exclusive all girls society called the White Gloves. Campbell and Sadie-Grace are also in the area on holiday and are selected as candidates too. One of their initiation trials is to jump from a high cliff into the lake below in the show more dark. All goes well until they discover the skeleton of a young girl on the lake floor. Who is she? How is she tied into the past lives of the parents of the four girls.

Great sequel. I liked how Sawyer's character had so many doubts -it made her seem more human.

Wow, what a sequel. This is way too complicated and spoilery to give many details on, but I loved this even more than book one, which I found to be a lot of fun.

Sawyer and the girls are back and ready for more mystery, lies, deceit, and secrets, and this time a secret society is also afoot. I love all the girls, as each are so unique and well rounded. They fit together to make the perfect friend group. I also loved that Nick got more page time in this book and further development of his character. He and Sawyer are good together.

The mysteries and the plot twists were plentiful and I loved every second! This is the kind of book that should show more come with a warning and that warning is the gif of Charlie Day looking like a lunatic trying to piece together all the parts of a conspiracy on a bulletin board. My mind was running a mile a minute reading this book, trying to figure out what the heck was going on, and it was PERFECT.

I really hope there is a third book in this series. While the major mysteries have all been solved, Jennifer Lynn Barnes does an excellent job of leaving one cookie crumb remaining.

Loved this book, and cannot wait to read more if and when it comes to be.

CW: fake pregnancy, illegal adoption of baby, lies about paternity/maternity, body found, death of daughter (body recovered 25 years later), impersonating dead daughter, vehicle accident, attempted murder

Well the crazy twisted 'drama in dresses' continued in this fun sequel!

It got a lot more hectic in the lives of our debutantes as they continue their attempts to untangle the web of lies woven by the previous generations in their families. It had the same flashback format which I was less engaged with this time around. What I really enjoyed was the dynamics between the present day debutantes, which as I have mentioned in my review for book one, comes down to the excellent characters that Jennifer creates. They each had unique show more personalities that came together beautifully to create that right balance between friendship, feuding and family. An enjoyable mystery. show less
* I got this book for review from the publisher*

This book was so awesome. I def enjoyed the second book in this series more then book one. I thought the female friendships and dynamics were more engaging them book 1 and the mystery easily captured my attention and shocked me. I normally can predict books easily but this book really surprised me and I am now dying to re-read this series to pick up on the plot. I really did like the characters paths through this book. The mystery and how it was crafted was a series highlight and I loved the ending of this book and would def read more by this author in this future and hope for more books set in this world.
