So I loved [b:Heaven|3236765|Heaven (Heaven Sent, #1)|Jet Mykles|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1306077372s/3236765.jpg|3271400], and thought it would be hard to top. Johnnie and Tyler grew on me in such a short time, and I didn’t really like Luc in that book. Boy was I wrong. Luc is the shit!

Luc and Reese’s week was great, and it was wonderful to see Luc treating it as more than sex, nor was Reese’s denial unexpected. But I thought the best part was after their week. The way Luc left, leaving no other option than to pursue his dream was absolutely horrible and wonderful at the same time. The scene… OMG. I don’t blame Reese for wanting to kill Luc.

Reese going through the next few months, breaking apart and then picking up the show more pieces to start anew was probably the best part in any of these books so far. The story got some depth with it, it wasn't just sex and lurrrrve seen through rose tinted glasses. And when he got the package back up, Luc seized his moment and came to claim what was rightfully his. show less
I fell for Reese right away. 6 years before he was laying his heart on the table only to have Luc push him away. Crushed, he has put everything he ever was away and tried to fit himself into a resemblance of what he thinks he should be.

Aww, I love the whole wounded and not admitting it hero. He is so sweet and just a tad repressed, you just want to muss his hair. Luc, in the meantime, just leaves him hanging and swans off to fame and stardom. Bad man.

Luc is arrogant, demanding and I just loved him as a character. He knows what he wants and is determined to get it at all costs. He is such a hottie and and I thought the red hair a particularly nice touch! In the past 6 years he has become more comfortable with his sexuality and wants that show more elusive one that got away, well, that he pushed away. Luc comes back and is surprised to find the former blue haired Reece is now a very buttoned down teacher who has given up his art. Intent on undoing a few of those buttons and shaking Reece up a bit, Luc is so the man for the job. Butter and bagels, oh my!

The ending was well done also, less of a immediate HEA and more of Reece beginning to be who he was meant to be. I was going to say *he found himself through exploring his innermost self* but it sounded kinda pervy…heh.

After reading Man Love Monday last night, I decided to do yet another re read of this book. 3rd time I think and every time is just as good as the last. I really like this series and I think the books as a whole all compliment each other really well. Gorgeous, smexy goodness that you must read! I also noted that you can get the books in print with the PL Nunn covers at Amazon and Loose ID, but it does look like the ID had sold out. 2 for the price of one. Noice!

3.5 stars. This second book is about Luc Sloane (bass player for Heaven Sent) and Reese Schuyler. Reese and his twin sister Reegan are part of the original Heaven Sent fanbase and were friends with the band when they first started. After Reese comes on to Luc in a moment of "weakness" Luc pushes him away in disgust (he's not gay). The story picks up some 6 years later (after Luc has discovered that men are fun too) and Reese has "de-gayed" his life. He's teaching in a very respectable, conservative (stuck-up) school and leads a very straight life (in all senses of the word). Luc wants a chance to finish what Reese started 6 years earlier. This book is another enjoyable episode of the series but I didn't like Luc's methods of forcing show more change on Reese - the whole "I know what's best for you" and "you'll thank me for this later" (even if it happens, by serendipity to turn out to be true) generally doesn't work very well for me. That aside, the rest was very good. show less

3 to 3.5 stars

Instinctively, his arms wrapped around Luc's slim waist and clung for a brief moment as starbursts crackled around his heart.

Hmm, I don't know. I know this is well liked. I liked it. But I had some problems with it. Still, I really enjoyed the tummy twinges this one gave me.

My problems with the book had to do with a lack of relationship between the two MC's. Luc and Reese have a history, but we don't really get to see their relationship from that time and it didn't feel like there was a lot of interaction between them at the time. The other thing that didn't work for me here was what felt like a very abrupt ending. I really have no idea if this left them off in a relationship or not.

In fact, I found the ending so

frustrating that I thought I must have missed something. I immediately started book 3 and nope, it just barely explains how Luc and Reese's relationship has moved forward, but still leaves me unsure. Granted, I'm only a couple chapters into book 3, so....

Now, all that being said, there's just something about these rockers, this writing and these story's that have me engrossed. I'm finding that I'm just whizzing through 'em now. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it all wraps up with a little more satisfaction and completion.

Okay, back to book 3 and Brent and Hell - Oh yeah!

I loved this one too. purgatory is tender, romantic, sexy and immensely satisfying. The history between Luc and Reese makes the story incredibly intense and I love their interactions together; there is a depth of feeling behind everything they say and do. Although I didn't love the stunt Luc pulls at the end I like how it works out.
