Now the grandchildren of Firestar are getting old enough to leave the nursery and become apprentices. Lionpaw is happy being a warrior. Jaypaw is not happy with his mentor, Brightheart. Hollypaw learns she is not cut out to be a medicine cat. After some thought Hollypaw admits it. Jaypaw is not happy but after sharing dreams with Spottedleaf he realizes his calling is to be the Clan's medicine cat. Jaypaw does not yet realize the gift he has but others do. What is happening within the Clans?

I enjoyed this new series. This book sets it up wonderfully. I feel a connection with Jaypaw. I realize he is angry, bitter, and so sure everyone sees him as useless but he has a gift that will help not only ThunderClan but all the Clans. I cannot show more wait to read the next book in the series. I want to know what journey StarClan will send Firestar's grandchildren on and who else will be going. show less
Looks like it's gonna be a good series! It's main characters are a new set of clan kits, Jaykit, Hollykit, and Lionkit. Each has their own very distinct personality. In fact, their personalities have been much more creative and specific than the cats in the previous series. They have more realistic flaws and traits than the earlier cats (no offense meant; just saying: Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Stormfur, etc didn't have many serious flaws). Jaykit is a serious grump, touchy and oversensitive about certain matters. Hollykit is well-meaning but a bit flaky and very impulsive. Lionkit is headstrong, easily angered, and ambitious. To be honest, I can't help but thinking one of them could go evil.

The book starts off with the story pacing show more a little awkward, but it's a good start and the 2nd book after this one completely hits it's stride, being one of the most solid Warriors' books I've read.

It definitely looks like it's going to be an interesting series, and is not simply a rehash of old storylines. However, many of the cats we loved from the old series are present in this one, including non-Thunderclan cats as well.

This Warriors fan defnitely recommends it!

The WARRIORS series continues strongly with the first book in their third mini-series, POWER OF THREE. Having read the entire first and second series', I knew I could expect great things from this book.

In a brief explanation of the clan nature, when a kitten is born, they are given a name with "kit" at the end. (Example; Thornkit) When they are six moons (months) old, the "kit" is replaced with "paw." (Example; Cloudpaw) When they have completed their training, they are given their warrior names, which can end in a variety of things such as "heart," "stripe," or "foot." (Example; Fireheart, Graystripe) If a warrior is made deputy and the leader of the clan dies or retires, the deputy show more makes a journey to the Moonstone/Moonpool and receives a literal nine lives from Starclan (heaven; where dead cats live) along with the end of their warrior name being replaced with "star." (Example; Firestar)

In the first series, a kittypet named Rusty joins Thunderclan, one of the four clans in the forest. There is Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan. Anyway, so he becomes an apprentice and is known as Firepaw. Then he is made a warrior named Fireheart. In the 5th book, the clan leader, Bluestar, dies. Before then, she had made Fireheart her deputy, who will be her successor when she dies. So Fireheart is made Firestar.

In the second series, the clans set out on a journey to find a new home because humans are ruining their old one. Squirrelpaw, one of Firestar's daughters, falls in love with a warrior named Brambleclaw. When they reach their new home, Squirrelpaw is made a warrior and earns her warrior name, Squirrelflight. Before the 3rd series and after the end of the 2nd, Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight have kits.

Okay, so the 3rd series starts out with Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight's children, Jaykit, Hollykit, and Lionkit, who are the grandchildren of the great Firestar himself!

Many events will have you twisting and turning, trying to find the answer, including the biggest answer of all. There is a prophecy that was told to Firestar by Starclan. "There will be three, kin of your kin, who will hold the power of the stars in their paws." What does this prophecy mean?

THE SIGHT begins the series anew quite nicely. Throughout its 363 pages, there is action, such as battles between the clans that are so descriptive that you can see a cat sinking its teeth into another's hind leg. There is drama, such as when Hollykit's heart says she wants to be a medicine cat, but her skills lie elsewhere. Jaykit is blind, so he can never be a warrior, despite how hard he tries. Leafpool thinks he should be a medicine cat, but he doesn't want to. And what could Lionkit's interest in Heatherpaw mean for the clan?

Basically, if you don't like picturing blood, teeth sinking into flesh, and claws ripping through fur, then the battle parts I would highly recommend skipping. Otherwise, it's a great book that will have you begging for more. After all, it says "The National Bestselling Series" right on the front cover, and I wouldn't deny it.

Another thing though - if you absolutely hate cats, this series isn't for you!

Hollykit, Jaykit, and Lionkit, are sister brothers, they were named the newest apprentices which gives them their proper names, Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Lionpaw. Hollypaw wanted to be a medicine cat, but she just can't remember every herb properly, though her fighting moves come along fine. Jaypaw,a blind cat on the other hand is great at smelling different herbs, smelling injuries, he can even go to other cat's dream, he can communicate with starclan! Leafpool thinks Jaypaw was destined to be a medicine cat. But, Jaypaw himself wants to be a WARRIOR!
It was a book in a series about cats, but it wasn’t what I expected. I guess I’m not really sure what I expected. It appears I jumped into the middle of an already existing series even though this is book one of The Power of Three sub series.

There are several clans of cats that monthly have a truce meeting but otherwise are fighting each other. Part of the problem is that some clans have relations in other clans and I would likely have to go back to the very first warrior book to figure it all out. Anyhow, this book is predominantly about a litter of three kittens who are anxious to reach their 6th month naming and placing stage where they find out who their mentor will be to teach them how to contribute to the clan. Hollykit is show more sure that the best possible position would be the healer. Her brothers both long to be warriors. From the start we know something is different about the one brother, Jaykit, but we don’t find out he is blind until after he has “seen” things a few times. After the three kits break the rules about leaving the grounds and encounter fox kits, they are threatened with the possibility of now getting new names and mentors at the 6th month time. It turns out ok and they get their mentors but Jaypaw is angry when he is given a mentor who only has one eye. He feels he’s being singled out and life is unfair. Over time, Hollypaw realizes that she is not cut out to be a medicine cat and even though he doesn’t want to be a medicine cat, Jaypaw realizes he is supposed to be the medicine cat. While the clans decide to have a one day truce during the day and have competitions, Lionpaw and an apprentice from another clan are buried when a badger/fox den caves in. Jaypaw is able to save his brother and the other apprenctice when he “saw” the accident from his brother’s perspective while not even in the vicinity. He rushes to the rescue and both apprentices are saved. show less
The book “The Power of Three; Warriors; The Sight” takes place in a nature park that is the home of 4 cat clans; Thunder Clan, Wind Clan, Shadow Clan, and River Clan. In the dense forest of Thunder Clan, three kits (Hollykit, Lionkit, and Jaykit) that are the grandchildren of Firestar, the clan leader, are eager to become apprentices. When a dead fox ifs found on the clans territory, the kits defy the warriors and set out to kill its cubs to save the clan. But as soon as they find the fox cubs, they turn out to be quite large and they chase Jawkit until he jumps off a cliff and nearly dies. As punishment the kit’s apprentice ceremony will be delayed and Firestar is unsure if Jawkit will become a warrior because he is blind. Soon show more the kits have their ceremony and Hollypaw is a medicine cat because of her intrest in healing cats and talking with he warrior ancestors (Stare Clan) through a pool of water called Moonpool. The other two kits become apprentices, but Jawpaw struggles in hunting and fighting neiboring clans. Because of his skills in herbs, injuries, and talking with Star Clan, Leafpool the medicine cat thinks he would be a great medicine cat. After a few Moons (months), the apprentices switch their positions in the clan and Hollypaw with her extraordinary fighting skills, can finally be used when a Shadow Clan patrol tries to clam Thunder Clan territory. Jawpaws gift of seeing Star Clan’s visions and other cats talking with them was also used when he saved Lionpaw from suffocating after falling into a badger hole at the edge of the clan’s territory.

I believe that this book would be a great movie. It tells of how challenging it can be to grow up and how complicating but rewarding it is to find your destiny. It would contain plenty of action and show the behavior and fighting skills of a feline. I also think it will send a message why it is important to protect and preserve wildlife and their habitat. Since I think how wonderful a movie of this book will be, I am going to contact the Walt Disney Company so I can try to persuade them to make the movie. I hope they will accepted my idea, and I bet other people tried to tell other companies too. Maybe the author will try to help them make the movie have as much as the book in it as possible. This book is awesome and it deserves it.

This book is about three cats that find out about a prophecy for them. They are trying to find out about the prophecy. I like this book because the prophecy gets added on to. This book is sort of boring in some ways, but besides that I think this book is really good.
