Crying, sobbing, and screaming.

That was not okay!!? The ending better not be the end of what started!!! It better be fixed!!! I just can’t take that. It can’t be true.

The whole book was so good, but the end was the best, and the worst. It was so good, so much action, angst, and feelings, and it broke me so bad. I need more. I need there to be more. That just cannot be the end of it.

Rule #3: The shadows are bad news. Stay away from them and black magic. It is illegal to do and morally wrong even if it makes you powerful.
MISS CHIP-ON-HER-SHOULDER TORY!! GAH! I just want to kindle punch her through a dagnam brick wall right now at the end of this book!!! *keyboard smash* it has not, however, stopped me immediately starting the next one because surely no one can continue to be THIS annoying… SURELY!

It’s a well written book as testament to my actual rage right now I suppose... And onwards to book 5...

Man. Tory really ruined this for me. I'll get the positive out first though before I ramble about how much I dislike her.

Darcy and Orion are mates and I can't wait until that's confirmed. It's such a proper way to show slow burn since I've had the feeling since book 1 and it's still not "official" but honestly... it so is. I was heartbroken with the cave scene and could feel the panic in what I was reading when she power shared with Seth and Darius to help him. I hate that I feel this is going to blow up in their face here soon, I enjoy them most in the books and if that's disturbed I'm not sure how much I will enjoy future books.

Orion and Darius' bond is getting a little weird. I get that it's a "guardian" bond but it seems like the show more focus in this book was more "sexual" than protection. The other books showed that it's painful when they witness the other being hurt and the overall drive to keep them safe. Not this professor Washer type of feeling that comes to them when they're close. I don't really like that, but maybe some other readers do.

I DO like seeing Darius get jealous of the friendship with Gabriel and I'm SO HAPPY to see Gabriel in this book. You get to see more of the friendship with Orion and I'm so glad he bonded nicely with the sisters almost instantly.

I hate that this book was so long and I feel like Tory was extremely disappointing. Her character growth went backwards and the back and forth with Darius sent me back to the first book of her being more selfish and completely away from the plot. I hate that she goes between him and Caleb. hating to having sex and then denies the bond because she hates the things Darius has done. Clearly she's okay with hooking up though. I think of myself, if I hated someone so much and was constantly hurt by them, and my only goal was to learn and then get out with my sister... I wouldn't be giving myself to the guys at all! Darius has repeatedly hurt her and now i'm a Darius fan.... I think he actually deserves better! He was pleading with her and showed her a different side to him on multiple occasions. He was pleading with her and she was just like.. NOPE! and then instantly jumped in with one of the other people who has consistently hurt her.

Darcy has always been the more likeably sister and not just because of her personality. She has come across as the stronger one even though the story is built up to be Tory as the "strong" one. She shows more maturity. I hope that Tory comes around but I feel like a lot of this book was just her acting like a child. I'm glad to see the sisters starting to come around to their history and what's rightfully theirs. I am glad their orders are known and I can't wait to see how Lionel plays his cards going forward. I also hate that he wanted Tory to destroy his son's heart and she kinda did exactly what he wanted. Oh and lastly... the snowball fight was adorable!!!!

This one was intense; full of love but also heartbreak and bad decisions. With every book I have less hatred and more pity towards the Heirs, especially Darius.

I think I figured out why am I so drawn to this series. In my usual romance reading routine I just enjoy book boyfriends and butterflies. Here the butterflies are rather scarce but it's Darcy and Tory with their unbreakable spirit that keep me going.

There were some parts that I didn't exactly love though. The first thing is we have more and more of Geraldine Grus. She is a good girl, but her supposedly funny figurative language is annoying af. I'm sorry, I had to say it.

The second thing - Darius and Tory were so blind and stupid it was painful to read. I felt like banging show more their heads together repeatedly. Pardon my French, but fucking morons!!!

And what the f is this ending?? I didn't expect saccharine happy but c'mon!!

I never thought a day would come when I would nearly DNF'ed a series. This book was frustrating to me because Tory's backward character development, her bitchy attitude, and her pity party made me nearly decide that this book was not worth following the rest of the series. This book was the main reason I jumped to book 5.5 of the series because she was literally pissing me off.

Don't get me wrong I get why she was angry at Darius. He tried to kill her and he tried numerous times to humiliate her beyond measure, but at the same time, it was also becoming the same song and dance with her. I was growing tired of it and this book nearly caused the end of it.

Also, I am starting to believe that the whole Phoenix thing came from the X-Men show more Comics because Tory was following in the direction of the Dark Phoenix Saga and you cannot change my mind on this. The whole anger issue reminded me of Jean Grey's dissension into becoming the Dark Phoenix.

I am hoping that Tory's attitude changes but I know that it will be a long shot. So, we will see how long I will continue reading this series.

Not a single complaint with this book! As usual, Peckham and Valenti have woven a story that absolute sucks you in. The romance story lines make my heart do somersaults, and I often find my mind racing trying to figure out how my favorite characters are going to get out of the corners they have been backed into. I am so invested in this series I cant even begin to describe it, and I plan on wasting no time at all diving into the next book!
Too much college sex, but funny. Overdramatic sad ending.
