If you have little girls, this is a GREAT book. My daughter was reading this book and was laughing so much I wanted to read as well. This is so funny and endearing. Lili and I formed our own "book club" and this series was our first for discussion. So many fun things in this series to enjoy; highly recommended for girls (and their moms).
I read this to keep up with my niece who has recently begun devouring these books. It's definitely a nice parallel to Wimpy Kid. The humor is about the same. This is more heavily illustrated, but the flawed, slightly immoral main character is sort of a female version of Greg Heffley. This certainly isn't out to win awards, but it is a highly approachable series that even a reluctant reader could get caught up in.
Diary entries about a girl who thinks her pants are haunted. Is it because of all the bad luck that she has brought upon herself? Or is it because of some envy that she starts to create in her middle school years?
Summary: After her mom buys her beautiful pants, Jamie Kelly believes that the horrendous incidents after she has the new pants are caused by her pants being haunted. Therefore, in an attempt to expel her pants, she gives them to the most popular girl at the school, Angeline. Filled with hilarious assumptions and funny events, Jamie's life is never dull. Reading her journal is never dull either.
Summary: Jamie is a middle schooler who deals with middle school problems such as fighting with her mom and wondering about her popular status. Her and her friend Isabella attempt to make over their friend from science until she becomes too pretty and more popular than them. Jamie's dog also has a problem with chewing holes in her good pants.
