Description
"A brand-new graphic novel series by Dav Pilkey, the internationally bestselling author and illustrator of the Dog Man and Captain Underpants series. In Cat Kid Comic Club, Li'l Petey, Flippy, and Molly introduce twenty-one rambunctious, funny, and talented baby frogs to the art of comic making. As the story unwinds with mishaps and hilarity, readers get to see the progress, mistakes, and improvements that come with practice and persistence."--Provided by publisher.Tags

Oh my goodness. My heart. I love that the dad wants the comics to be wholesome but comes to realize that what's important is that the kids are being creative and having fun. (How he realizes it is worth the read for adults, even if they don't read the rest of the book.)
I love the comics themselves, mostly, indeed, ridiculously unwholesome. But even one of those does have the message "It's never too late for friendship." I especially love the one that is sweet and thoughtful, though, Summer and Starla's combination of haiku and photographs. There's another one with photographs at the end that also teaches Upcycling along with crafty creativity, you'll have to read it to see.
It is interesting that we get dumped right in. It's first of show more the series, though. Maybe the characters were introduced in the Dog Man books? Anyway, I'm going to request the rest of the series right now.
Highly recommended to anyone who is or was ever a creative child or is educating or parenting same.
(Much better, imo, than Captain Underpants.) show less

If I haven't persuaded you to read Pilkey yet, this might be a good one to start with, even though it's the newest and builds on a lot of previous stuff. So many ideas for kids, and adult citizens, to think about, and to use. Just, ohmyheart.
A very cute series ... the childlike handwritten monologue and illustrations are adorable, and relatable for children. The flip-o-rama sections are fun.... although, can be a potential issue with ripped pages. My children love this book, and the movie!
Precious little book for kids! Funny and innocent. Very appropriate for school aged kids (6-12). Read this with my 10 year son.
Super awesome.
