Laurel McBane has loved Delaney Brown since they were kids, but has never acted on it because Del is Parker's brother. Laurel can't allow anything to cause a rift between herself, Parker, Mac, and Emma, but one night when she is angry with Del, she lets him have it in the form of a kiss instead of a punch. From that moment on, everything changes as their decision to date but not have sex for thirty days, inspires a pool among the members of the group as to how many days under thirty they can wait.

Savor the Moment is similar to the second book in the Bride Quartet, Bed of Roses, in that Laurel and Del have been part of the same friend group since childhood and are now involved. The difference in the story is the characterization of Laurel and Del as well as the insertion of Mal to their gang. Laurel's baking adds to the story as many of her creations are described in detail. Although this book is eleven years old, it reminds me of many of the recent romances based around cooking, making it seem well ahead of its time. Overall, Savor the Moment is another enjoyable addition to the Bride Quartet. ( )

Laurel McBane has always been in love with Del Brown, an inconvenient truth as he's the older brother of one of her best friends and business partners. While she sees him constantly as he does the legal advising for the wedding planning business, a friendly spat turns into something far more intense when she impulsively kisses him. Now Laurel and Del must figure out if their romance is a brief fling or something more.

Third in the series, Laurel's romance with Del is sweet with pretty low stakes conflict. As Laurel is a wedding cake baker, there's plenty of descriptions of cakes and several other desserts so if you're suggestible and have a sweet tooth, make sure you have some treats on hand. The writing in this one was a bit rockier than what I'm used to in a Nora Roberts novel - mostly just dialogue with unclear speakers and transitions in perspective not being marked clearly. Also naming one character Mac and another Mal is just mean. That said the final chapters involve a trip to a beach house that are written super well and dang do I want to go on vacation now. ( )

I like this series more for the long term friendship among the women than the romances, although they aren't bad either. This one involves Laurel, who has always had a thing for her friend Parker's brother, Del. Of course, they start a romance, have problems, make up and get engaged by the end of the book. No suprises, but then you don't really read these to be suprised, do you? ( )

Laurel's tart fairy tale romance offers few surprises, but it's impossible to deny Roberts's flair for sketching likable couples.
