What a delightful story that will be fantastic for early readers. Akimbo goes to stay with his Uncle Peter on his snake farm. His duties include feeding some of the less poisonous snakes and he learns about how snakes are 'milked' to make snake bite antidotes. When a green mamba is spotted, Uncle Peter and Akimbo set off on a mission to capture this rare and deadly snake for the collection.
Quick paced book very enjoyable and educational discussed snakes in detail and even gave some facts in the back about snakes. The main character Akimbo has a great work ethic and a wonderful heart. I would promote this book to students that were interested in nonfiction books about snakes, it would be a great fictional companion to a nonfiction report on snakes.
