Description

I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn't stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire. Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all... Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense? And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon's turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things show more couldn't get worse, now there's an arrest warrant for Hudson's and my supposed crimes--which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse. Choices will have to be made...and I fear not everyone will survive. show less

The love V escalates (it's not a triangle unless everyone is into everyone (that's how shapeswork) )—Grace is now romantically squished between two brothers, neither of whom respect personal space and only one of whom is British (I love this-- it's so dumb). She dates Hudson (the British one-- good choice) while Jaxon pouts and plots. Graduation looms, battles happen, dragons attack, people die, and somehow the Unkillable Beast gets freed. Grace still doesn’t fully understand boundaries, but at least she’s learning to juggle boy feelings and world-saving responsibilities like a champ (both equally important things). Campy and ridiculous, but the fun kind of ridiculous. Also, is that queer rep I am spotting?
You know, I wasn’t expecting such thorough conversations against the for-profit prison system in a YA book but turns out that I’m here for it.
The Crave Series by Tracy Wolff is a young adult series that is pretty similar to the Harry Potter series. Instead of a boarding school for witches and wizards it’s a mixed school of witches, dragons, vampires and werewolves. The main character, Grace, thinks she’s human, and after her parents die she’s sent to live at the boarding school which is ran by her Uncle.

Covet is the third book in the series. After nearly dying again, just like in the ending of the last two books, I really wasn’t expecting much for her by book 3. This book was a little more entertaining than the first two. She gets put into prison and must find her way out. This one had more action and developed the characters more than in the first book.

I like the show more overall storyline and the action scenes. Wolff writes really well. I wish this series was narrated from Jaxon’s point of view. After three books I really can’t stand Grace. She is whiny and weak in all 3. And it’s the same repetitive drawl over and over again. I don’t have much faith for Grace’s character development, but I will finish out the series.

★★★★ Despite the whiny main character, the storyline is pretty good.

.Second time around reading this and I have to say I loved it even more, although some of Grace's inner monologue drove me nuts. Why do authors insist on writing such long winded monologue's it over explains things and can bring you away from the story? Luckily I am so obsessed with Hudson and this story line that it did not deter me away for long.

It is such a fun read and everything I enjoy about a paranormal story, vampires, wolves a royal court that thinks they are better than everyone, magical secrets and missions all wrapped up in a nice enjoyable bow that includes love and friendships.

Only reason it took me so long to finish it this time was because I was annotating the hell out this book with my favorite parts which was so many show more to even list. show less
Tracy Wolff wanted to kill the readers with this installment, what a fantastic and addicting ride. Took me a day to read and 2 more to be able to write some sort of review. I so need more! Jaxon, Hudson, and Grace among the rest of the characters that are simply amazing. With all the twists, turns, turmoil of emotions had my poor heartbreaking and racing. I heard the audiobook as well and let me tell you it's brilliant, definitely recommend it. Heather Costa and Tim Paige did a great job portraying the characters. I need Court now!

The first half was a bit boring, but the second part was exactly as nonsensical, crazy and fun as the previous two books in the series. Four stars.
