Description

From BookTok sensation J.T. Geissinger comes Ruthless Creatures, a scorchingly hot mafia romance about two people bound together by a debt that must be collected. No matter the cost.
Five years ago, my fiancé disappeared. He left me with a wedding dress I'd never wear. Left me with the kind of scars that can't be healed. The man I built my future on vanished like a ghost. All that remained were my broken heart and a million unanswered questions.
Until a mysterious stranger arrives in town.
show more Tall, dark, and dangerous, Kage is as full of secrets as he is sex appeal. Though I know he's hiding something, I'm drawn to him like a moth to flame. Heat crackles between us with every look, desire flares into passion, and I fall hard, helpless to resist.
But then I discover he's been sent to collect on an unpaid debt from my missing fiancé....
And that debt is me.

Well, I tried. I think it's fairly official that this author is not for me. This book is hilarious, but I don't mean the try-hard banter. I mean the intensity, I mean the lines, the pathetic insta-everything. The fact that they never use the word "Bratva," the dialogue, peppered with "beautiful girl" and a bunch of shit no one says to each other after 6 hours of knowing one another, the fact that a middle school teacher just says "I'm in," and essentially becomes a mafia wife. What passes for coy, flirtatious banter here is just...

YMMV, this author is so popular. For me though, the tension is misplaced, the relationship and dialogue eons away from organic and I couldn't take this "dark romance" seriously in the least.
Holy Cow...I have never read a mafia romance book before and I'm SO GLAD this was the first one I picked. It was perfect. I love everything about it. If you have a chance, the audiobook is the way to go here. The narrators are insane and I'm addicted.

Five years ago, Natalie's fiancee went missing just days before their wedding and she has been unable to move on. At least until she meets her new next door neighbor, Kage. Intrigued by his bad boy attitude and honest personality, Natalie is equal parts terrified and fascinated by him. Kage has been sent to Natalie by his mafia boss - for a very specific reason. But things get complicated very quickly and I was buckled up and ready for the ride.

If you are a fan of stories (and/or films) show more such as 365 Days or 50 Shades of Grey, this is your jam--except better. Kage is an alpha male with big D energy and an intense respect for women. Plus, he falls into speaking his native Russian during sex...OMG. 100 out of 10. A must-read for smut lovers. show less

Good Lord. I swear this author gets better and better with each book she writes. I realize that normally is what happens, but she takes it double the elicness. This was suspense at the very best. And the dirty talk "alphaness" of Kage?!?! Yeah, must take my money. Great storyline, unexpected twists, and a girls friendship that is what every girl should have.

I cannot wait for Sloane's book. She almost stole the show in this book.
Kage and Nat! well this story hooked me up from the start, their chemistry was scorching hot, I love the refreshing side of the mafia stories I usually read. I so going to need the next book, I want Declan and Sloan. I liked the emotional ride, but I will have to say it dragged a bit in the middle. Definitely a book you can enjoy fully as it's a standalone, I like that had a dual POV, and really like the characters. You enjoy dark romance, just get this one and enjoy.

3.5 rounded up

I'm not generally a fan of the "good girl/bad boy" trope. I LOOOOVVVVVVVEEEE the bad boy aspect, but the good girl always feels like a vehicle to tell the bad boy's story to me.

Here, the h had a bit more depth than some others, but it was still a challenge for me.

Kage, on the other hand was just hawt. Definitely brought up the average.
Loveeeeeeee

How I wish I could find someone that loves Nat as much as Kage loves Nat. The huge, gorgeous, rich, mobster angle doesn't hurt even a little bit. This book was freaking awesome! Love, suspense, intrigue, drama, blood, guts, smexy time galore! Loved it so much.
5 Super Stars!

I freaking LOVED it!
FMC Natalie and her best friend Sloane were HILIARIOUS!
MC's Natalie and Kage set this story ON FIRE
