This book would be good for primary and intermediate grades. Could be used for dictation as well as a good lesson about persevering. The book is about Alicia Alonso and her love for dance as well as the challenges she faces after becoming blind and still wanting to dance.
An inspiring story of a visually impaired ballerina who overcomes obstacles to become a dance icon.
I might use this book to encourage perseverance and achieving dreams despite challenges. It can also introduce students to different forms of art and expression.
