This one did drag a little for me but I still enjoyed it even though I can admit the writing isn’t incredibly strong. I was surprised by the twist at the end which is usually something I can see a mile away so that was nice. ( ) I don’t even know where to begin. I loved this series so much but I feel like it just veered off course with this one. I don’t feel like the plot picked up until about 50% of the way through and I feel like Casteel was just there to be in the background for Poppy and not forefront and together with her. Then other events took place and while we might have been preparing for this as a one time deal it didn’t feel like that at all and I don’t know going forward if this will still feel like the same series I just finished and I'm kinda lost and excited and disappointed and just not ok right now so be warned, this is not a review, this is me rambling nonsense. First thing first, I still love Poppy and Cas as much as I did in the last books, but what happened in here? That ending and half of the book were just chaotic. I'm warning you, if you want to read this, read first A Shadow in the Ember( Nyktos' book) because even tho I read it I still felt confused and lost at times with some of A Shadow in the Ember references. And did I appreciate all the godley superpowers that seem to always appeare at the end? Not really, it was ridiculously excessive BUT as I said, I love Poppy and Cas and the series as all so I turned a blind eye on it along with a lot of other things if I'm being honest. All that being told, this book felt like a gift to all Kieran loves( me being one of them) and I still don't know what's going on between that triangle but whatever it is I'm already shipping it! And you know what's better than a wolven? A draken! I loved Reaver so much to point that I think I became obsessed with him. My highlights of the book were Reaver and Kieran's arguments. no reviews | add a review
