Absolutely Stunning – I’m Officially in Love with Jennifer Hartmann’s Writing!

I just recently discovered Jennifer Hartmann, and I’m completely hooked—The Wrong Heart was the third book of hers I’ve read, and wow... what a powerful, emotional, beautifully written story. This book grabbed hold of my heart and didn’t let go.

Her ability to explore grief, love, and healing with such raw honesty and depth is something truly special. The characters are flawed, real, and unforgettable. Every twist felt earned, every emotion genuine. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one sitting.

If this book is any indication of what’s to come, I cannot wait to dive into even more of her work. Absolutely fantastic.
This story is an unforgettable journey through love, loss, and healing. Melody’s world collapses after her husband’s sudden death, leaving her grappling with grief and guilt. Her connection to his heart recipient and a support group introduces her to Parker, a man whose emotional walls mirror her own shattered heart. Their relationship is a poignant blend of pain and hope, beautifully capturing the struggles of moving forward while honoring the past. Hartmann’s storytelling is raw and evocative, with twists that kept me hooked. The emotional depth and character growth are phenomenal, making this book a tearjerker in the best way. It is a must-read for those seeking a powerful and deeply moving love story.
I thought this book would be a bit too soon for me to get to, considering I'm still mourning the loss of my Aunt that just passed away this past Christmas but in turned out to be the perfect book to help with my grief. Although this book is about death and revolves around suicide and my aunt passed away from natural causes, grief is still grief.
One of my favorite lines in this book is " But I suppose grief doesn’t take age into consideration—it just takes what it wants when it wants it. Grief is the most selfish thing in this world." 💔 This is so accurate.
Any who I really enjoyed this book but there were a few things I didn't like, such as I did understand that Parker dealt with so much trauma but I am a firm believer that just show more because you have a shit background it should give you the right to be such a di*k and there were many times I just got really aggravated with his character and with Melody being so damn gullible.
The 2nd thing in my opinion it was at first hard to grasp is the amount of Love that was expressed by Melody and her husband but than and maybe I'm wrong in a years time she was willing to move on, if I am wrong on the time line then disregard this dislike. if not here is my reasoning behind this, my grandmother passed away in her mid 30s (clearly way before I was born) however my grandfather lived till he was 77 and he never remarried because my grandmother was the love of his life, which is what I felt Melody's love for Charlie was. I get many people grieve differently but that kind got me a bit to dislike that part.

Now what I did love, listen despite those two dislikes, this book really touched my soul. I've loss way too many people in my life to death and a few to suicide so to get through this book, to read what the other wrote about what's on the other side is what we put there, it really tugged at my heart strings.
This was well written and captured my heart. Highly recommend.

oh BTW Ms. Jennifer Hartmann, what is wrong with Nickleback ma'am? I happen to love them LOL.
