PreS-Gr 3—Fairy tales can be defined by the fact that children know how they end—but not with this book! Snyder
directs one plot after another, leaving choices in the hands of adventurous readers. Santat runs amok with the
concept, gleefully providing humorous illustrations on every page.

Why only three stars for a Dan Santat illustrated book?

Because it is scary AF

No I'm serious. I got killed by the three little pigs one time. I got eaten by the witch along with Hansel and Gretel. Every time I tried for a happy turn of events I got nowhere. This book is dark. Enjoyable but dark. I definitely think older kiddos would like it. It's deceptive in its advertising. ;)

Fractured at its finest? Or just fractured? I'm not sure........ (

The Poetry is appealing but I find the book convoluted and have always disliked books that send you to a different page. (
