Attractive illustrations show a modern and diverse school. The text is a little vague, a little disjointed. It starts in the vein of This is the House that Jack Built, but that only lasts the first page. This is one that might work better in person rather than me just reading it silently to myself, but at the moment I wish there was a bit more of a thread to follow.
A book about school as a community, and the wide variety of people who attend school and work at school.

Very simple but enjoyable. I especially appreciate the gender-neutral language - when I was pointing things out to my niece I accidentally called two students “a boy” and “a girl” but the book calls them “a student” and “another student” and I should be more careful.
"This is a kid.
This is a kid in a class.
This is a class in a hall.
This is a hall in a school --
Welcome!"

A diverse school community grows, changes, learns, shares, plays, and works together - "And we are all important." A brightly colored, representative picture of what a school can be.
