The White House: An Illustrated History

My copy was signed and issued by Lyndon Johnson. I'm sure it would have been updated since this copy was issued but it's style and presentation may not have changed much. The book describes how the building itself has changed over the years, it lists and shows some of the art and furniture collected over the years and it describes the rooms in use. There is some history here but it focuses on the building and it's contents rather than it's incumbents. Informative and interesting.
