Bad Girl Reputation is the second book in the Avalon Bay world. Gen returns to the area and quickly runs into her on and off again ex, Evan. While Gen tries to show her old world she's changed, will her and bad boy Evan be able to make the new versions of themselves work?
I enjoyed the Off Campus series by Elle Kennedy so I was interested in a new group of friends to follow. After reading the first book, Good Girl Complex, Evan was the character I was most interested in reading more about, as most of the remaining characters didn't really click with me. While following Evan's efforts to show Gen they should get back together, I found bits of the story fell flat. Both characters showed growth and potential, but it felt like as a show more relationship, the growth was minor compared to their personal changes. Another thing I struggled with was the constant need to bring up how horrible their reputations and actions of the past were, as it was mostly telling them how terrible they acted vs showing us in flashbacks. On the other hand, the physical and emotional chemistry between the two characters was solid and I was interested in seeing how they found each other in the end. Overall it was a decent read, and depending on who the next book (if there is one) follows, I may be interested in continuing on.
Thank you to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review. show less

I did not read the first book in this series before reading Bad Girl Reputation but I will definitely add Good Girl Complex (book #1) and The Summer Girl (book #3) to my TBR. This was a quick read and a fun romance novel, I love Gen and Evan's on again, off again relationship and that they both recognize that they were toxic for each other in the past.
Lee Samuels and Summer Morton did a great job with the narration of this audiobook. I have listened to Summer Morton's narration before and I will continue to look for books narrated by her in the future.

This is a second chance contemporary romance, the story between Gen and Evan. I love Elle Kennedy and her writing, but I felt this story a bit off, it was too predictable so even though the plot is entertaining I knew what will be coming next and that left me a bit disappointed, however the audiobook narrated by Lee Samuels and Summer Morton was a better option, they kept a good rhythm and pacing, did a good job portraying the characters and made it a better story. So I recommend doing the audio instead.

This the second book of the Avalon Bay series.
This a fun summer beach read with all the necessities: light and easy read, page-turning, sexy and fun novel. This is part of a series which has similar characters but can be read as a stand-alone.
The novel’s setting is the beach town of Avalon Bay in North Carolina where affluent people stay to escape for the summer from the chaos of their busy city lives. In book 1, we met Cooper and Mackenzie and this novel focuses on Cooper’s twin brother, Evan Hartley.
Genevieve West returns to Avalon Bay after her mother dies from pancreatic cancer. She agrees to help her father runs the business until he can find someone to fill in. Because she had a reputation as a wild child growing up she show more attempts to prove that she is no longer that same careless teen. In her efforts to avoid her irresistible ex-boyfriend, Evan Hartley, Gen dates police officer, Harrison. Genevieve soon finds that Evan might not be the careless person she remembered and misses the friendship they had as kids when his father died. Cooper Hartley and Mackenzie Cabot from book 1 make an appearance. Will Gen be able to date Harrison and avoid temptation from her old friend, Trina back in her drinking and partying days? show less

it’s been a while since i read the first book in this series, but I didn’t feel like i’d missed anything at all. my favourite thing was the character arcs both mc’s had throughout this story and it was so wholesome to watch unfold. another solid read from elle kennedy!!

Bad Girl Reputation by Elle Kennedy
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Read: April 2023
This was cute!
I loved watching Gen and Evan find a balance between reckless and responsible. Evan becoming a big brother was super sweet and the chosen family the characters created at the end was beautiful.
Overall this was enjoyable, the main characters were lovable and had loads of chemistry.
