Tate, an artist from Denver takes a trip to Spearfish, South Dakota to settle her deceased aunt's estate. Tate is in need of some landscaping work before she can list her aunt's house for sale. Much to Tate's surprise, her friend Val has a brother who does landscaping. Once Val introduces Nathan and Tate, the plans begin! The landscaping plans, the interstesting plans for payment for services and plans for each of their respective careers. Tate's looking for no-strings attached, fun and wild sex. Nathan on the other hand wants to whoo Tate romantically. Since neither confesses their thoughts to the other, they seem to but heads frequently!
I LOVED this book! Not only did it have romance and conflict, but also steamy sex. I liked the show more story line and how Nathan and Tate had to figure out that they both wanted the same thing. It was easy to fall in love with both of them and their hard heads. I enjoyed the conversations that they had with themselves. Then, when they were together many of their conversations had double meaning which was funny. I found myself laughing and smiling while reading. show less

While there were some touching moments and scenes of emotional intensity, I found Dirty Deeds boring for the most part. Even though Tate and Nathan had some good chemistry, I felt things were a bit lackluster; I really couldn't connect with either one. This was a story that has been told before and I don't think this book showcases what a great author Ms. James is.
She hires him for some landscaping in exchange for her giving him art lessons and no strings attached sex. He wants romance and to win a landscaping contest. I didn't care for the premise and didn't really like how she constantly threw herself at him and him running away and not being truthful with her. Of course when they finally got to the sex it was hot, but the story itself had me walking away several times to read something else. If it wasn't for this authors previous works I'm not sure I would have finished this book. Several jumpy transitions, not what I've come to expect from this author.

Loved this story even if I could see ahead to their problems. A very sweet couple; I found myself rooting for their HEA.
