I chose to read this book in hopes of finding yet another great story from World War II. I was drawn to it because the book begins during WW I, so thought the back ground would be good. It did give a good picture of pre-WW II life for Jews in Poland. It leaned a little heavy on the "foo-foo" things of teen age girl, however it is told from a teen age girls point of view. I wished the author had gone a little further with the history of the Jews that fled to Palestine. All in all an intertaining read.
