A Three Star Read for Me.
This was a typical christian romance about a lady who travels to become a teacher for some bad kids. The kids turn out to be good and love the teacher. That is all...

On a side note while it was a three star read for me..The author herself deserves 5 because her writing skills are impecable.

A good start to a series that looks to be very good! I like the way this author writes. The characters are very likable and real and I felt their sorrow, their pain and their joys. I look forward to reading the rest of this series!

Liza Merriwether comes to Little Hickman Creek, Kentucky to take her first teaching job. Her initial reaction is 'what have I done' as Little Hickman is a lot different than her home back East. But Liza knows God has led her there for a purpose and she is determined to make it work. She is also determined to be independent for the first time in her life and loves the little house the town has fixed up for her on the Broughton land.

Ben Broughton is a widower struggling to raise two little girls. He at first struggles with the little miss independent school teacher who has a mind of her own. And when he finally figures out that God has maybe put her there for him, he may be too late. His good friend Jon Atkins and Liza seem to be hitting it off and Ben is not one to interfere. They both discover love and that with God all things are possible.

There is another little twist to this story that I haven't touched on, but it leads you right into the second book in this series, which is "Sarah, My Beloved". I am beginning that book next. I liked the drama, the good times and the romance in this story. It left me wanting to keep reading. ( )

This book is not very well-written or historically accurate. Features a Girl Ahead of Her Timeā„¢, complete with overalls and pants. Also, the main characters have serious issues in the way they discern God's Will. ( )
