While the pace was good and the writing relatively engaging, I found the plot of this supposed thriller to be entirely too predictable. The lack of physical description except for the key plot point worked light a spotlight, outlining the central plot before the reader even had a chance to realize the plot started. Jade comes off as whiny and almost painfully slow, and her supposed gifts with athleticism and health barely making an appearance while Rich's bookish cleverness saves the day more than once. John Chance, the cool spy under duress, is purported to be a big tough guy, but we rarely see evidence of it in action. Overall a harmless book, but unadventurous even for the stay-at-home reader.
Life changes drastically for fifteen year old twins Rich and Jade on the day their mother dies. Their father, John Chance, didn’t know he even had children until the day before the funeral. Now, thrown together, all three desperately need to adjust. Unfortunately, when you or your newly discovered father works as a spy, you don’t get much of a chance to do that. A couple of days after meeting their dad, Chance is kidnapped. After discovering that their father is a spy, Rich and Jade decide to rescue him – but they don’t know exactly what they are up against.

I don’t read many thriller or adventure books, so I don’t really have anything I can compare this book to. It was fun; fast paced. Because I don’t have much to compare show more it to, I found that it wasn’t predictable, which is what always annoys me about action movies. It was a nice change from what I’ve read recently; it had more action and wasn’t a book I had to sit there and think about while I was reading it.

While the two main characters (Rich and Jade) annoyed me a bit at first, they acted like real teenagers would have in their situation. They did end up growing on me by midway through the book, though, which definitely made the book more enjoyable. The secondary characters, however, I loved. The twins’ father, Chance, was fabulous. So was his boss, Ardman. I would have loved to read more about both Chance and Ardman.

Definitely a good book, and it makes me wonder whether or not I would enjoy Higgins’ adult books as well.

These teens are amazing. Their mother dies, a dad they never met comes to pick them up, they learn he's a spy and suddenly the twins have these spy and ninja skills to get them out of sticky situations. Be ready to take a leap of believability if you read this book. At times, discriptions of deaths are graphic but there are no swear words or sexual content. Dispite it's flaws, it's a fun non-stop action book that reads like an action packed Jason Bourne type movie.

I'm not normally drawn to adventure books, but this one kept my attention. Parts were somewhat violent/graphic for my taste, but overall it was a good book and one that would grab the attention of any young reader who loves adventure and a good plot.
After their mother dies in car crash, 15 year old twins, Rich and Jade, are thrown into a life of intrigue and suspense when they go to live with their father who they have met for the first time at their mother's funeral. Because he acts so secretive, the twins follow him one night and see him get kidnapped by some thugs at a scrapyard. The police do not help them, and when they go back to the apartment, they witness the shooting of the man who their father was supposed to meet. Can the twins escape the clutches of this unknown enemy? Can they rescue their dad? Read this exciting adventure filled with international intrique and suspense. Hard to put this book down!
15 year old twins Jade and Rich end up going to live with their father who didn't know they existed until he got a phone call telling him their mom had died. Before they have a chance to get to know him, he's kidnapped. The twins are told several stories but eventually figure out their dad is in trouble and needs their help. He has hidden a fuel sample that the abductors want. The kids have it with them all the time, but don't know that.
