I read them all but my favorite was THE BOTTLE IMP. I'd like it more if it was updated to modern speech. Same with THE TELL-TALE HEART which I liked but some stuff goes over my head because I don't know what it means. MR. GEORGE was a classic ironic ghost story which was a good opening for the book.

~ Mr. George by August Derleth 4* classic ironic ghost story
~ The Calamander Chest by Joseph Payne Brennan 3*
~ The Poison Necklace by Miriam Allen DeFord 3*
~ The Bottle Imp by Robert Louis Stevenson 4* I'd like it more if it was updated to modern speech. Favorite of the book
~ My Displaced Ghost by Robert Arthur 3* would read a re-make
~ Faith, Hope and Charity by Irvins S. Cobb DNF
~ Mrs. Manifold by August Derleth 2* didn't fully get
~ The Hands of Mr. Ottermade by Thomas Burke DNF
~ The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe I struggled with the old style speech. Hearkening means listening :/ ( )

Book description
Imagine a phantom stagecoach careening toward you at breakneck speed...
A ghostly finger beckoning you to an unknown fate...
An ominous figure reaching out for you on a dark, deserted street...

These are just a few of the shuddery adventures that await in the pages of this book. The stories are a masterful blend of mystery, terror, and suspense that will glue you to the edge of your chair!
