This large-trim book features two types of text, descriptive/poetic and factual. It gives readers a tour of various caves all over the world, from New Zealand to Mexico to South Africa, Hawaii to Florida to France.

Back matter includes author's note, illustrator's note, cave rules (never go caving alone!), spelunking equipment, and "more fun facts about caves."
