Description
Clay Johnson has the abs of Adonis and the deadly smirk of the devil, himself. There's hardly a day he's not headline material during football season, and never a day he isn't a bullseye target for every girl on campus. He used to be the easiest of all the players for me to wrangle as the Public Relations Coordinator, but after a nasty breakup with his high school sweetheart, he's a mess. And a complete pain in my ass. We meet to discuss his behavior and review media relations standards. But show more when he witnesses how I fall to pieces in front of my guitar-toting crush, his wheels start turning. And he cooks up this absurd plan. He helps me get noticed. I help him make his ex jealous. All by pretending to be in a relationship. What he doesn't realize is that this bookworm is a virgin, and far from versed in seducing a musician. So, to sweeten the deal, I convince him to help me -- not just to get my crush's attention, but to knock his socks off once I have it. But the more I come unraveled at the hands of Clay Johnson, the more trouble I have discerning what's fake and what's undoubtedly real -- particularly, the way my heart flutters every time that breathtaking man touches me. show lessTags

Fingi che sei mia: Una Recensione a Quattro Stelle
★★★★☆
Consigliatissimo! show less

This book has all of my favorite tropes
fake dating
sports romance
opposites attract
"teach me"
Clay is on the college football team was just broken up with by his girlfriend. Gianna is the football teams PR intern. Clay is hoping to make his ex jealous and Gianna is hoping to learn how to appeal to her musician crush. The two come up with this fake dating scheme to win back Clay's ex and Gianna hopes to gain some experience in the relationship/dating department.
I LOVE this book. I was having such a crappy day when I read this and this book turned it right around. I read this in one sitting and my cheeks started to hurt from smiling so much! Gianna is this completely adorable quirky bookworm and Clay is a star athlete, but their chemistry show more and attraction is palpable. The tension between the two was so well built. I honestly think that every male should read this book and take notes from Clay. I know that this book will now be a go to comfort read. I couldn't recommend it more. show less

FAKE DATING A CINNAMON ROLL! WHAT A JOY
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sometimes sports tropes are over my head in terms of descriptions and plays but the relationship that evolved between Clay and his Kitten (swoon) was incredible. Loved the teach me moments and the growth of our hero. First one in this series I’ve read and loved it.

I have seen books by Kandi Steiner and even have a few on my Kindle but this is actually the first book I have read by this author. Now, that I have I will be reading the other books. This is an angsty read that I am here for it.
In the beginning, I have to admit that I was not sure the fan of Clay. While I like a cocky man, I just was not vibing with him. On the other hand, I liked Giana right away. She had an innocence about her that I could relate to. Like Giana, I had my first intimate experience later in life. It was during this time that I fell for Clay. The way that he was gentle and caring with Giana knowing it was her first time; he won me over. Kandi "popped" my cherry with this book! Blind Side by Kandi Steiner = awesome read!

I love stories about popular jocks and nerdy girls. I love fake dating too, even if I don’t think it’s a thing irl (or is it??). Knowing that I thought that would be a perfect book for me. It certainly had a great potential, but it should have ended right after they realized that it was not fake. Unfortunately for our characters (and for me!) the story went on…
But let’s start from the beginning. There’s Giana - a PR powerhouse for the outside world and an insecure virgin in private. Giana has two hobbies: reading smut and pining over a local musician. There’s also Clay - a college football star who got recently dumped by his longtime girlfriend. As Clay notices Giana’s crush he suggests a fake dating scheme so she can get show more the musician and he can get his ex back. They fake it till they make it obvs and it’s mostly cute and hot and just gives you all the feels. Clay is really a book boyfriend material; he reads her books to figure out what she likes - how hot is that? So it’s going great and I’m enjoying the story - and then all of a sudden the last 30 ish % of the book happens. And the book starts losing stars like the Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant... show less

In Blind Side, Steiner delivered an adorable, fun and steamy fake dating romance, guaranteed to make you swoon with its flirtatious and sexy banter, a swoon worthy hero and a shy and smart heroine.
Blind Side is the second book in Kandi Steiner's Red Zone Rival series. This instalment tells Clay and Gianna's story. Clay Johnson dreams of two things, making it to the NFL and marrying his high school sweetheart. Currently, he is at the top of his game in college, enjoying his long distance relationship with his girl and looking forward to the day she would enroll at North Boston University, where he attended college. Then the unthinkable happened. She broke up with him, shattering one half of his dream.
Giana is the PR assistant for the show more football team. She has a major crush on a musician, but has no clue how to gain his attention. On learning of Giana's crush, Clay concocted an elaborate plan. A plan where he teaches Giana to land the guy of her dreams and she helps to make his ex-girlfriend jealous. Sounds simple, but then the pretending became a reality.
Blind Slide was an adorable, fun, emotional and steamy read which grabbed my attenti0n from the first page. There were so many things to love about this story. The characters, the banter and the romance all combined had me glued to the pages.
Clay makes the perfect book boyfriend, which makes him a keeper. When he turns on the charm, no one was immune a fact to which Gina can testify. He read her romance books to garner pointers on her tastes and he went out of his way let her know she was special. I loved his humility and his willingness to be there for those he loves, however he needs to learn to set boundaries so not to be taken disadvantage of.
Giana's shy and sweet personality endeared to almost everyone with whom she came in contact with. She's pretty good at her job as a PR assistant despite her sense of intimidation when in the presence of the footballers. A loner by nature, which made her list of friends totally non-existent. She showed tremendous growth throughout the story.
Giana and Clay were absolutely fantastic together. I loved their dynamics and had fun watching their relationship develop. Their feelings for each other grew slowly. Perfectly timed, which made them believable as a couple. They shared an intense chemistry, and, without a doubt, they belonged together. Without realizing it, they brought out the best in each other. If only they would look beyond the surface and recognize what’s been staring them in the face.
Giana and Clay’s interactions with each other were fun, sexy and laced with lots of emotions. They both have their share of issues, with Clay’s issue being the biggest of all. Poor guy didn’t know how to handle it and the blow back almost damaged his relationship with Giana. Also, his refusal to communicate with her about said issues only helped to make the situation worse.
Now I wasn’t a big fan of the conflict introduced in the last quarter of the story. The backlash and the impact it had on Giana tore me up. It pained me to see her go through all of that hurt all due to selfish individuals, which was undeserving. Clay’s grand gesture at the end, although cheesy, made up for it.
If you like contemporary sports and new adult romance with witty humor, the Blind Side will make the perfect addition to your reading list. I am looking forward to reading Quarterback Sneak, which is ready and waiting on my kindle. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading show less

Most of this review is going to be gushing.
BLIND SIDE follows Giana Jones, a girl who works in media relations who gets the chance to see Clay Johnson, a football player, and things don't seem to go that well, at least for Clay, since he had just gotten over a breakup with Maliyah, and wants to win her back. Giana, on the other hand, has a crush on a singer at their bar named Shawn Stetson, and so, a plan is made, in which Clay and Giana decide to fake date, with Clay wanting to get Maliyah back and Giana getting Shawn. Things, however, also take a turn when Giana asks for Clay in help with losing her virginity and goes from there.
Let me just say this, THIS BOOK GREW ON ME SO MUCH!!! CLAY AND GIANA?! I loved them so much and their show more relationship evolving over the course of the work. The same with Clay and his teammates too!
And the STEAM! It was unexpectedly both hot, sweet, and also awkward at times like when C&G did it in the observatory area AHSHSH 💀
Also, the word "kitten" was mentioned in here at least 40 times, and it started out fine but then it got a little bit annoying sometime after that 😭💀.
Needless to say, I LOVED this work! However, there was a bit of an issue I had when it came to the conflict.
Like, when it came to Giana and Clay splitting, Clay didn't say ANYTHING over to Giana about what happened with the phone talk he had with Cory and his mother going to get help, it was breaking up with her and then that's essentially it.
The way that Clay won Giana back was also hilarious, with a picture book showing their relationship and what happened 😂.
This is the second sports romance book with fake dating that I've read. It took me some TIME to read, but I absolutely enjoyed this one overall.
I also want to check out Zeke & Riley's story, since I absolutely want go see how they worked out. Also, THE EPILOGUE TEASING HOLDEN'S BOOK, and also them getting a new coach since Coach Sanders is taking an NFL job. But Holden's book going to be one on a coach's daughter has me ecstatic and curious to see how it goes! show less
