Profiles of several Pulitzer Prize winning playwrights, along with interviews with each. They discuss the influences that inspired them, along with some of their difficulties getting produced, and their thoughts about the current state of American theatre. An interesting bit of miscellany for people interested in the theatre, though perhaps a bit discouraging for those who wish to pursue a career as a playwright. The writers are not optimistic about American theatre. Easy to read, without a lot of jargon, so someone who is interested only in some favorite playwrights and not versed in the language of theatre, can find it accessible.
