While this story had less of Cinderella than many of the retellings I've read, I enjoyed the regency setting as well as the male lead's joke. Unsure whether how he would be treated after coming into his inheritance, he convinced his friend to switch places with him. The joke was on him, however, when his childhood friend, our Cinderella, was disappointed to find how little he remembered of their time together. Well, how little the false childhood friend knew. As all of them are thrown together in various settings, the banter and romance were both lovely. I always enjoy Byrd's books, and this was no exception.
This is a fun and quick Regency Retelling of Cinderella. It is part of a series but each book in the series can be read as a stand alone story.
