Description

"Faith Ferguson is New York's most in-demand wedding planner, an arbiter of taste for elegant affairs, lavish ceremonies, and exclusive fêtes. She appreciates a simple celebration as much as a dazzling event, for she knows that a dream wedding is not necessarily the most expensive one. As much as Faith enjoys her work, her two failed engagements leave her with no desire to get married herself. She finds fulfillment in her close relationship with her twin sister, Hope, her role as a mentor show more for her assistant, Violet, and her career. This year, new clients have flocked to her, and she signs up an extravagant reception, a mid-sized gathering, and an intimate soirée, in addition to her mother's next marriage and Violet's modest ceremony. Faith finds herself forming bonds with her new clients and their loved ones--most notably the handsome brother of one of her grooms. But weddings are not always all champagne and roses, and in no time, Faith is grappling with private quarrels, unplanned pregnancies, family scandals, dark secrets, and the possibility of cancelled ceremonies. Through her own journey, Faith will prove once and for all that there is not just one path to happily ever after"-- show less

The Wedding Planner by Danielle Steel has Faith Ferguson planning three very different weddings. Faith is one of the most sought after wedding planners. You can always count on Faith to plan every detail of a wedding and to make the event magical for the couple. Faith may plan weddings, but she has no interest in getting married. I found The Wedding Planner to be easy to read. This is one of those stories that is a nice break from reality. I enjoyed the descriptions of the weddings that Faith created for each couple. She certainly came up with some creative ideas. There were two that were over-the-top while another was elegant. Weddings bring out the drama in families. Mothers want one thing while the bride wants another (or a show more groomzilla). Faith gets to hear it all and must tread a fine line (it would not do to take one side over the other). Faith’s twin, Hope is the opposite of Faith. She has a loving husband and a large, noisy family. In addition, Faith’s assistant is getting married, and Faith’s mother is walking down the aisle for the fourth time. There are a variety of personalities along with a diverse set of social issues (an abusive relationship, a charming gay couple who plan to have a child through a surrogate, and an unplanned pregnancy). There is repetition of backstory details that is typical in this author’s books. I enjoyed the upbeat ending that left me smiling. The Wedding Planner is a lovely afternoon diversion. The Wedding Planner is an escapist story with a prosperous wedding planner, a groomzilla surgeon, fireworks on the fourth, adoption quandary, a winter wedding, a jubilant twin, and happily ever after. show less
Thank you to Kerrian's Notebook FB page.

This is my 110th Danielle Steel book. I know I'm an addict but she writes so well in my opinion, and I know there are naysayers of her books and how they are light and fluffy and the same. I do agree that sometimes they can be somewhat repetitive but I haven't read a bad book by her yet. I still need to read 42 yet (some aren't even out yet).

Who doesn't love weddings? I know I do and have read a few books about weddings already. Faith is a wedding planner in NYC and loves her job. Yes, she's been close to getting married herself twice, but loves being single. Her twin sister Hope, a former model, is the opposite in looks and in personality and is married and lives in CT with her husband and her show more three young sons.

I loved Faith's clients; many different personalities and likes and dislikes, from rich parents to not-so rich I guess you can say but she is very expensive and caters to the higher ups or for anyone who can afford her or even for smaller weddings with a budget. There are three clients who are prominent in this book; one whose parents are very wealthy and is inviting 600 people and Annabelle, the bride is none too happy for many reasons. The other bride is Phoebe, her fiancée, is controlling and manipulative. I felt sorry for her and Faith does too since she almost married one herself. The third couple is Alex and Morgan, a gay couple, who know what they want and Faith enjoys working with them for many reasons. I loved them too and their personalities.

In the meantime, her thrice divorced mother is getting married again. Another wedding to plan. Also, Violet is Faith's assistant and guess what? She's getting married too. She has a very small budget and is planning a very small wedding. Faith is trying to help her too. Faith has a lot of plates spinning but she loves her job.

Things go awry as they sometimes do and will these weddings go off without a hitch? I also loved the fact that Faith and these couples kept in touch after their weddings and for many reasons. She was a friend to them.

Will there be romance for Faith? Probably. Edward is Morgan's 10 year older brother who moves to NYC and she gets to know him better at the wedding of Alex and Morgan.

It wouldn't be a Danielle Steel without romance of course. There's a lot more to this book about weddings believe me.

I would say this is a good book and not a great book by her and I finished it in 2 days.

I borrowed this book from the library. It's a book club read for March.

I have never read Danielle Steel before, and I'm left wondering if this book is like her others, and if so, why has she seen such wild success? A science fiction book featuring aliens to more relatable to me than this tale of an in-demand New York City wedding planner and her ridiculously wealthy clients. The book is poorly edited. Descriptions are redundant, the same lines repeated in a baffling way. The viewpoint floats from character to character without warning and is confusing at times. There wasn't even much romance, the sex not showing up on the page until the end, and there was little of it, with sparse descriptions. The prose itself is simple and lacks show more rhythm.

The one positive I can say is that it's a fast read. Thank goodness.

The Wedding Planner by Danielle Steel
Not so much into weddings as I'm over 65 but it's nice every once in a while. This book is about Faith and her twin sister Hope.
They both grew up in teh industry fo models at Vogue.
Faith has started her own wedding planner business and has super smart people working for her.
Hope is happily married with 4 kids in CT. Their mother is remarrying and they dread meeeting the foreigner....
Love the details and how much time she spends NOT only on the wedding preps but with the ocuples to find out what's really important to them.
She is so tangled up with the people that she becomes their family in some cases. She is able to rescue them. She finds one she coud love but wants NO wedding. Love the solution.
So show more many couples problems and love how it all works out for them all. Love all the detailed descriptions and travel to different locations and all the different age groups and their problems.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

If you liked All That Glitters, this one is for you. All That Glitters was about heroine whose naiveste bordered on stupidity, and this The Wedding Planner has an important character who let's her fiance control her to the point of cruelty.

Women are much stronger than either of these weak and feckless characters. Do not waste your time.
Having read every book by this author

This story was very good. I have read every novel written by Danielle Steele . I am shocked by the money spent on some of the weddings in this story. I think any woman in the world would love to work for the main character in this book. Another good clean story by her. Love her books.
