Hayleigh and Saxon meet and fall in love, rushing a marriage to avoid a long distance relationship but 10 years down the line the perfect life starts to crack.
This book is fabulous! It’s a very natural portrayal of a relationship that burned hot and fast and how that turns into real life ten years later. Hayleigh is a plus size woman, relatable and without all the exhausted plus size romance tropes. She has insecurities but that’s not the focus of the narrative in any way. The storytelling was superb going from present day to memories of their courtship in such a natural way that pulled you into both storylines perfectly. It was also a great way of showing two sides of the story without switching narrators helping her have some show more self realizations in a natural but plot propelling way. The whole book was engaging and hard to put down. Another round of editing for typos and it would be perfect! Can’t wait to read more from this author! show less

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I don't know where I expected this to go but I wasn't entirely disappointed.
The writing was a little passive, more telling than showing, and lagged in some areas while rushing in others.
I don't think the snippets of their past added or detracted from the story.
I do feel like Saxon manipulated Hayleigh into marriage and in general.
I felt like they baby-talked to the kids a bit too much, but that's a personal thing of mine and not a reflection of the writing.
I was drawn in faster than I thought and became quickly invested in their story.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I loved this story. It is refreshing to read a story about an examination of what went wrong in the marriage on both sides. At first it is easy to blame the husband. The more we learn about both of them, we start rooting for them to get together.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I really liked this! I prefer more showing than telling, it felt a little wordy and on the nose. But I really enjoyed the characters and plot.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.A brilliant debut novel that is beautifully written with wonderful characters.
A book about marriage, passion, miscommunication, insecurities, drama, sadness, joy and all the emotions you would want from such a genre as this contemporary romance fiction.
A nice touch is the feature of the 'past years' chapters which gives insight to the couples back story.
It also has a great feel good ending that anyone would appreciate.
For anyone who loves the idea of romance and all that can come with it.

The writing was excellent, and I adored all of the characters and I appreciated how they dealt with the miscommunication.
I'm pleased I gave this book a chance, and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next!
