Description

A book in the Fallon Mates series

Ariel Ripa needs a miracle for her daughter on Earth.

On Belizair, only a miracle will provide Zeraac d'Amato and Komet d'Vesti with a shared bond-mate. Neither Zeraac, Komet, nor Ariel expect to get what their hearts most desire. But when Zeraac travels to Earth at the request of his brother's human bond-mate, he rescues Ariel and finds the answer to his own and Komet's prayers—just as they're the answer to hers. By Council law Ariel must agree to a show more binding ceremony of her own free will and can only know the truth about Zeraac and Komet once they're in the transport chamber. To follow the rules would mean the death of Ariel's daughter. While to break the law could mean the setting aside of the mate-bond and the possibility of exile for the two men. For Zeraac and Komet, there is no choice other than to risk their honor and their hearts for Ariel and her young daughter. Through love and hope born from the depths of darkness and despair, the three find something more rare than the precious Ylan stones they wear on their wrists—a miracle that will change their lives.

I am glad that Ms. Strong gave Zeraac is miracle and happy ending this early in the series. I felt badly for him when his brother Adan told Krista about what happened between Zeraac and his future bond-mate. This story also has more world building and it is an emotional roller coaster first with the seriousness of Kaylee's, Ariel’s daughter, illness and then the challenge to the binding of the three. I was not happy with Zantara and her taking her desperation and loneliness out on Zeraac, Komet and Ariel.

Ariel Ria is the wife of the police officer that was killed in front of Krista in BINDING KRISTA. It turns out that Ariel and her husband had not been together for some time. They weren’t divorce or legally separated but Colin show more couldn’t handle Kaylee being sick and not being able to do anything about it. As so many of us would he blamed himself for her condition and volunteered for undercover missions that kept him from home more and more. Ariel has learned to be strong and assertive while dealing with her daughter’s illness. She has lived with the fact that there is no cure and that her daughter would eventually die. Kaylee's condition is one of the genes. One thing that pleased me was that Ariel is a submissive. She longs for someone to take control and help relieve the burden she has carried alone for so long. I also loved watching her transformation as Kaylee is healed. Ariel becomes more playful and more willing to experiment with her angels.

Zeraac is a tough, strong and honorable man that has been dealt a lousy hand. He is one of the few males that was effected by the Hotaling's virus. He is sterile and since his society puts so much stock in childbearing and child rearing he has resigned himself to being alone and searching for the race that caused so much destruction on his planet. He takes on the job of checking on Ariel and her daughter. Making sure that the family of Alexi won't cause them any trouble. He never expects to find a bond-mate or a daughter. I love that Zeraac is so dominant and so willing to fulfill Ariel’s fantasies. I also loved that he worked so tirelessly to make sure that the mate-bond would not be taken away from him. He is such a good father and mate I am sure that Ariel and Kaylee would have been devastated if the council had forced the mate-bond to be broken.

Komet is the Vesti that is called in to be the second in the mate-bond. His clan house is the one that brought the virus to Belizair. He never thought he would be picked as a mate. When he is approached to be the second with Zeraac he jumps at the chance to have a mate and a daughter. Komet is a scientist and a scholar but he is also a dominant partner in bed and gentle soul with Ariel and Kayless when they need it. I was glad that this triad was so well suited to each other. With Komet and Zeraac not being friends there could have been a great deal of tension between them in the beginning.

The threat of healing Kaylee and of Ariel and Kaylee being taken from Komet and Zeraac hangs over the story for most of the book. Ms. Strong does a good job of not letting it make the story depressing and gloomy. She also describes Belizair so well you can see all the wonder and greatness of the planet. She also gives an idea of the people and how the virus has truly effect the people. It is sad that so many are suffering. Finally she also introduces new people in this story and I hope that she has a plan to help the women of Belizair find a way to have children. I am sure there are males on earth with the Fallon gene and maybe they can help. I love this series and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I liked the opening of this story giving us much more explaination behind the Hotaling's bio weapon, more history of Zeraac's planet and race. In fact, I liked this one much better than Binding Krista. Zeraac helps save Ariel's daughter and finds his bond mate. While the sex was hot, I really liked the story.
This is probably more a high 3 stars. I loved the first third and last 10% but just 'enjoyed' the middle bit. However at the end I really wanted to continue the series and I loved Kaylee (the child). So up to 4 stars it goes.
